Soak sign on washing machine
You won’t find any kind of washing machine panels. It’s good when each key is labeled, especially in Russian, then using the machine on an intuitive level is simple and easy. But if all functions are indicated by icons, this is more difficult. And even if some of them are immediately recognizable, others, such as the soak symbol on a washing machine, require further interpretation.
Which image indicates soaking?
Not all washing machines have this name for the soaking function, but almost every unit has its analogues. For example, somewhere this is called “Pre-wash”. Typically, the soaking program is indicated by an image of a basin with a wavy line imitating the surface of the water. You can see an image of a pelvis with the number 1.
The option can be started manually with almost every washing program if the items are heavily soiled. Some modes initially involve rinsing (for example, Cotton 90) and then the option starts automatically when the corresponding program is activated. What is meant by soaking?
- Water is filled into the drum and heated to 30 degrees. Water at this temperature does a good job of dissolving stains from juices, caffeinated drinks, cosmetics, and so on.
- The detergent dissolves. The dispensers have a special compartment for pre-soaking, where the product is taken from.
- The drum begins to move smoothly, exposing the laundry and facilitating cleaning.
- After the option ends, the dirty water is drained, new water is added to the tank and the main wash begins.
Important! The soaking process is quite long and, depending on the model, takes from 30 to 120 minutes. When combined with other programs, this time is added to the washing time.
When combining the function with the main wash, the powder must be poured into both holes of the dispenser. The rinsing compartment is indicated by the sign I, the letter A or the number 1.
Soak Application Tips
The washing machine manual reveals all possible details of operating the machine. There you can find a detailed description of any function, including the soaking function, as well as information on how to combine and combine modes. It says the following about pre-washing:
- Do not put gel or other liquid products into the main wash compartment (only dry powders, stain removers and bleaches). Otherwise, the product will flow through the pipes into the drum while soaking, and the main wash will be done without any product at all. The same applies to the compartmentand for pre-cleaning, it involves the use of only dry washing mixtures;
- Quick wash modes do not support pre-soak.
At first glance, the “conflict” between soaking and express programs seems strange, but if you think about it, everything is logical. After all, the essence of fast modes is speed, and prewash can extend the cycle up to two hours. If things are seriously dirty, you will have to choose a different program.
Intensive soaking on Samsung machines
Some time ago, Samsung washing machine manufacturers introduced a model with an intensive soaking function. It promises quick and high-quality stain removal without any effort on the part of housewives.Now you don’t need to manually soak things, splurge on stain removers and wait for several hours, everything will happen automatically.
The essence of the program is that things are not just soaked in water, but are enveloped in lush foam, thanks to the innovative Ecobubble system.
If the washing machine panel is adapted for a Russian-speaking user, the function will be designated: “Intensive soaking.” If the panel is in English, look for the “Bubble Soak” designation. The intensive soaking cycle includes the following stages:
- At the first stage, the machine whips the detergent entering the tank into a thick active foam. Through the holes in the drum, the foam enters the dirty laundry and begins to intensively clean stains from the inside. The foam is whipped by the Ecobubble generator, a relatively new development from Samsung;
- in the second stage, something like a mini-wash occurs. A little water is poured into the drum, and it begins to reverse movements at low speeds;
- At the third stage, the soaking itself occurs. The drum stops, the active foam inside freezes, and things remain in it for some time while the whipped detergent penetrates deeply into the fibers of the fabric, softening and partially eliminating dirt.
- The fourth stage actually repeats the second - the drum is again rotated slightly so that the foam can completely cover the surface of the contaminated clothing.
Attention! Ecobubble technology not only removes stains quickly and efficiently, but also does it as gently as possible.
Users claim that Samsung's intensive soaking can remove even the most stubborn stains - blood stains, red wine, caffeine and herbal juice. The duration of soaking can be adjusted depending on the severity of the dirt.
