Designations on the Indesit washing machine
Having bought a brand new Indesit washing machine, users are stupefied during the first couple of minutes looking at the abundance of signs depicted on the control panel. In such a situation, the icons on the Indesit washing machine must first be deciphered, and only then use the “home assistant”. Otherwise, finding the right programs through trial and error can be fatal to your clothes. Let's decipher the icons of washing machines from this company, and at the same time look at the marking codes of such equipment.
Main icons
Indesit washing machines, especially modern ones, often have a short explanation of the symbols directly on the control panel. Moreover, this decoding is quite clear and does not require additional explanation. You can see a striking example in the picture below.
Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Many models of Indesit washing machines, especially those released several years ago, have the so-called old type of control panel, in which there is nothing else except a few dozen icons and numbers. This can also be seen in modern budget models. To begin methodical decoding, divide all the icons into at least two groups (main and additional), first disassemble the main icons.
The main icons indicate the modes and programs that are used most often by users of Indesit washing machines.
- Cotton.
- Soaked cotton.
- Cotton: intensive wash.
- Cotton: gentle wash.
- Synthetics: intensive wash.
- Synthetics: gentle wash.
- Delicate fabrics.
- Economical washing.
- Super fast wash.
- Rinsing.
- Drain.
- Spin.
In the figure above, we have highlighted these modes specifically so that you can look at the icons indicating them. An interesting fact is that on Indesit washing machines released 5 years ago, the “cotton” icon was often indicated in the form of a cotton flower, while on the most modern models the symbol in the form of a white T-shirt is often used. In our opinion, the difference is not fundamental, the main thing is to remember that both of these icons refer to the same thing.
Additional icons
Additional, or as they are also called, special signs are also present on the modern “home assistant” of the Indesit brand, and the newer the model of the machine, the more of these signs it has. Why is this happening? The fact is that in recent years, machine manufacturers have begun to introduce a huge number of highly specialized programs and functions that are designed for things with special characteristics. Thus, washing machine manufacturers try to please the most demanding users.
Among other things, new technologies are emerging in the field of clothing care, which are used in advanced models of Indesit washing machines.
At the top you see a picture in which we have highlighted the signs of additional programs and functions. Their list is far from exhaustive of what we have noted, since completely new models with new programs and new functions are already appearing. Let's talk about additional signs in more detail.
- Wool sign. Displayed either in the form of a sweater or in the form of a skein of wool, in principle, a completely understandable image. This is a washing program specifically designed for woolen items. Its features: long service life, low drum rotation speed, low water temperature.
- "Delicate fabrics" sign.Drawn in the form of a flower with six petals. This is a washing mode that is suitable for silk, satin, cashmere and other finicky fabrics. In this case, washing occurs in a large amount of water, the drum rotates slowly, the water temperature is usually 300C. A complete analogue of delicate fabrics is the “silk” icon.
- Jeans sign. It undergoes virtually no external changes, and what is there to change, because the design of denim pants tells more eloquently than any other image what program we are talking about. We are talking about a denim washing program.
- Easy ironing. If you see an image of a small iron on the control panel, know that your Indesit washing machine is capable of washing clothes so that they will then be much easier to iron. Although, in fairness, it should be noted that this mode worsens the spin cycle and some users complain that the laundry is frankly wet after it.
- Hand wash icon. It turns out that a washing machine can simulate hand washing. The intensity of rotation of the drum is adjusted so that it manages to exert a sufficient mechanical effect on the contaminated fabric and at the same time treats it as carefully as during hand washing - hence the name of the washing mode.
- Sports shoes sign. It refers to one of the varieties of gentle programs that are ideal if, for example, you need wash converse or sneakers.
- Designation "curtain". If you need to wash curtains made of light fabrics, the mode indicated by this sign is ideal. With heavy curtains, “the room doesn’t work.”Firstly, they require a washing machine with a fairly large load, and secondly, washing heavy and dense fabrics in this mode is ineffective.
- Soaking sign. The program indicated by this sign is useful if the item just needs to be soaked for a long time, but washing is not required. The washing machine will take in water, heat it to the desired temperature, and the clothes will lie in this water for up to several hours, then the machine will drain the water and, without spinning the laundry, finish the cycle.
The “soaking” program may be required when you are dealing with particularly contaminated items. In this case, this mode starts first, and then the normal washing program.
About the marking code
Now let's talk about the marking code of Indesit brand washing machines. Each country where this washing machine is produced has its own marking, and the differences are quite significant. We will be interested, first of all, in models released in the CIS countries, and we’ll talk about them.
In the picture that you can see above, we show an example of a marking code for a specific model of an Indesit washing machine, which was assembled in Russia. A brief decryption is already given in the figure; we just need to make some explanations.
The first two letters of the code have no semantic meaning for the user. The third letter indicates that this washing machine model has a narrow body and is front-loading. If you come across a top-loading washing machine, then the first part of the code will not have 4 letters, but 5, and the letter T will be added. The fourth letter, in the first part of the marking code, determines the type of control (electronic or mechanical), as well as the type of indication.
The second part of the code consists of 4 numbers and one letter. In our example, the first number is 8, this means that the washing machine has a load of 8 kg. The next two digits are 1 and 0, which means that the machine drum rotates at a speed of 1000 rpm. The last digit of the code indicates what design and color this machine has. And finally, the last letter of the code, which stands apart, indicates the country of assembly, in our case it is Russia.
In conclusion, we note that a modern Indesit brand washing machine can have dozens of different programs, subroutines and useful functions. Each program and function has its own special icon, which encrypts a lot of useful information. Each user simply needs to know what this or that icon means, otherwise it will be difficult to use the machine normally.
