Where to pour powder in a Weissgauff washing machine
Automatic washing machines have not surprised anyone for a long time, but there are still people who have never used them before, so they may not know basic things. Faced with modern household appliances, they often do not understand where exactly they need to put the powder in a Weissgauff washing machine. We’ll tell you about the purpose of each section of the powder receptacle so that beginners will have no more questions.
Powder box arrangement
“Home helpers” of this brand are equipped with powder receptacles with three compartments. Each of them is intended for different household chemicals, so you cannot add one detergent to all compartments at once. In the tray you can find Roman numerals or special characters that indicate the purpose of each cell:
- Roman numeral I. This symbol is usually found in the first compartment on the right. It is necessary for the detergents that the machine uses during the prewash. If you add chemicals to this section but do not activate the clothing pre-treatment mode, the product will remain in its place unused.
Pre-washing is necessary for the most contaminated items that the equipment may not be able to handle during a normal operating cycle.
- Roman numeral II. Most often it is located on the compartment on the left, intended for washing powder or gel, which will be used to clean clothes during a classic wash.
- Flower or star. This tray is designed to hold additional household chemicals, such as softener and fabric softener, to keep clothes soft and fresh. It is very difficult to confuse this compartment, because it usually differs from others in its unusual shape, color or volume.
As you can see, the Weissgauff technique is very easy to understand, because in the powder receiver there are only three different cells for household chemicals.
Is it possible to confuse the powder receptacle compartments?
If you accidentally mix up the sections of the powder receptacle, then there is nothing critical about it, but you should understand that the quality of clothing processing will definitely decrease as a result. This will happen because smart home appliances use each of the detergents in a timely manner. Therefore, if you mistakenly add gel or powder to the conditioner compartment, the washer will start using this product only after the main wash is completed, since the system is programmed to take household chemicals from this compartment last. That is why the detergent will be used at a stage when there is no longer active washing, so it will not have time to wash thoroughly and will simply remain on things.
About the same thing will happen in the situation if you activate the pre-wash mode, but add the product to the cell with a flower or star icon. In this situation, pre-treatment will take place in clean water, none of the stubborn stains will be removed, and there will not be enough powder for the main stage of work.
You should not add household chemicals directly into the drum, because the machine drains and refills several times during washing, so all the detergent will go down the drain with the first batch of used liquid.
Of course, you can always wash your clothes again, because you shouldn’t leave things in this condition. Linen with powder residues not only does not look aesthetically pleasing, but can also cause an allergic reaction. Therefore, it is better not to experiment with trays for household chemicals, but always strictly follow the instructions. This will allow you to get perfectly clean clothes every time, and also not waste water, electricity, detergents and your own time.
No compartment markings
It’s easy to use a new powder tray with clear markings, but what if all the markings have worn off over time? Of course, this is not a reason to load chemicals at random, because a mistake will directly affect the quality of the wash. It's much better to run a few tests quickly.
To do this, just start the main wash and simply open the powder receptacle immediately after starting the SM operation. This way you will not disrupt the cycle of the machine, because the most important thing is to close the hatch door tightly and activate the standard or fast program. By opening the tray, you can see which cell the water has flowed into. From where the machine immediately tried to pick up the detergent, the compartment can be marked with the Roman numeral I, because the “home assistant” always first sends a little liquid to the department for the preliminary stage as a test. This way you can quickly identify the first compartment.
The test does not end here, because now you need to carefully monitor the tray, into which the device will supply a lot of water, usually in several large portions. You can put a mark on this cell with the number II, because this is what the machine uses for the main washing stage. As for the place for conditioner or rinse aid, it is usually easy to find, so no tests are needed to determine it.
Moreover, most often even such a basic check is not needed to determine the purpose of each tray. This is due to the fact that in the washing machine from The Weissgauff main wash compartment is slightly larger than the others, so it is easily identified visually. The same can be said about the rinse aid compartment, which is distinguished by its non-standard color and shape. At the same time, the last cell can already be found by a banal method of elimination, so even new users of automatic washing machines should not have any questions about the powder receiver.
