What is dishwasher rinse aid used for?
Saving money from their own budget leads to the fact that many housewives begin to refuse unnecessary household chemicals, for example, dishwasher rinse aid. They believe that a powder or tablet is enough to clean the dishes until they shine. But is this really so? Will such savings not result in even greater costs – repair of the PMM? Let's figure it out.
Purpose of this tool
It is no coincidence that dishwasher manufacturers make a special compartment for rinse aid. After all, rinse aid for a dishwasher is needed in order to solve the following problems:
- remove any remaining detergent (tablets, powder);
- speed up the drying process;
- add shine to the dishes.
That is, this product complements the work of the main detergent, making the dishes not just clean, but also shiny. The rinse aid washes away stains formed from water droplets, food residues and detergent. Therefore, special neutralizers of aggressive detergent components are added to the rinse aid, which dissolve unnecessary particles of the product and promote the rapid evaporation of water from the surface of the dishes.
The results of washing dishes with rinse aid are much better than without it. It's unlikely that you'll want to spend time polishing wine glasses until they shine, knowing that the dishwasher can handle this task much better than you. Moreover, the price of the issue is not high, so is it worth saving?
Manufacturers of modern dishwashers recommend using rinse aids to wash out harmful components of tablets and powders from dishes and the dishwasher in general for the safety of your health.
How to find a good mouthwash?
Many dishwasher users, especially beginners, ask a similar question. Which mouthwash is best and how to find it? Regardless of the brand of dishwasher, Bosch, Leran or any other, it is necessary to check the composition of the detergent. This may include:
- Surfactants - they perform the main function - dissolving fat and dirt, reducing drying time. Reducing the drying cycle time will save on energy costs. Pay attention to their number, it should not exceed 15%.
- Detergents such as anionic sulfate. It softens water, but in high concentrations it is dangerous for humans.
- Polycarboxyl is a substance that protects dishwasher parts from rust and oxidation. Not always present in the rinse aid.
- Acids. They are also not the main component, but if they are present, they help neutralize the aggressive components of the detergent.
- Alkali – gives the product a whitening effect. You need to be careful when using this product. After using it, the print on the dishes may come off, and colored dishes may fade.
As for the manufacturer of the rinse aid, it is difficult to say whose product is better. This is a subjective opinion of consumers. Consider your budget and remember that the most expensive mouthwash may not always be better than the cheapest one. Try different options. Ideally, you need to use the entire line of products from one manufacturer: salt, tablets, and rinse aid.
Prepare the product yourself
You can also prepare a rinse aid for PMM at home with your own hands. We offer a small selection of recipes:
- Based on apple or grape vinegar. You will need 2 tablespoons of vinegar, which are poured into the compartment intended for rinse aid. This amount of vinegar is enough for 6 sets of dishes.
Important! You should not pour regular 9% vinegar into the PMM, since its persistent odor will take a long time to dissipate.
- Based on fresh lemon juice. You need to mix 4 tablespoons of lemon juice with 1 tablespoon of mirror and glass cleaner, and also add a couple of drops of any essential oil of your choice. All ingredients must be thoroughly mixed; you can shake them in a suitable container. Pour 1 tablespoon of the prepared product into the rinse aid compartment for 6 sets of dishes.
- Based on lemon. Before use, citric acid is dissolved in warm water in the ratio: half a teaspoon of lemon and 1 liter of water. Add 4 tablespoons of medical alcohol to them. You can flavor the product as you wish by adding any essential oil, such as lemon, mint or orange. Do not pour citric acid powder directly into the machine, as lemon juice can negatively affect the rubber seals, which will lead to damage to the PMM.
So, to achieve high quality washing in the dishwasher, it is worth using rinse aid together with the detergent. The result will please you, and with the right approach your budget will not suffer.
