Choosing a washing machine under the sink
Designers offer owners of small-sized apartments a rational solution - to save space by installing a washing machine under the sink. But everything is not so simple: it is difficult to choose a compatible machine for an already installed standard sink. You will either have to change the washbasin to a special “universal” one, or look for a miniature model of a washing machine. To choose the right washing machine for a sink or a special sink, you need to remember some points and rules. Let's reveal all the secrets in more detail.
Sink for any machine
It seems that the easiest way is to find a miniature washing machine for an existing wall-mounted sink, but in reality everything is more complicated. Firstly, a compact washing machine is non-standard and costs more than full-size ones. Secondly, small-sized units have limited capacity, usually no more than 4 kg. Washing a blanket or jacket in such a drum will be problematic. Thirdly, small models require special and expensive repairs, which can only be provided by service centers in the capital. If your budget is limited and you want a more spacious machine, then it’s better to choose a washbasin first.
The best option would be the PAA Claro sink. This is a universal sink model, perfect for integrating dryers or washing machines. Its main advantage is the location of the siphon on the side and back, which significantly saves space and allows you to easily place a standard washing machine. It is also important that the height of the washbasin is exactly 9 cm and the depth is 6 cm, making it easy and comfortable to use.
A washing machine up to 50 cm deep will fit under the PAA Claro universal sink!
The rest of the advantages of PAA Claro can be given in a list.
- Stylish design. The sink has a classic design and is suitable for most interiors: from the home bathroom to spa areas, hair salons and other public places. It is no coincidence that Claro appears in the projects of many designers, as it looks organically in the premises.
- Interesting little things. The design of the sink is thought out to the smallest detail. A striking example is a stone soap dish stand, unobtrusively masking the drain hole.
- Versatility. The most important thing is that almost any narrow washing machine, the depth of which does not exceed 50 cm, can be built under the PAA Claro.
- Affordable price. The new PAA Claro costs less than a miniature machine gun.
With the purchase of Claro, you can easily integrate a washing machine and free up space for a bidet, boiler, cabinet or laundry basket. The choice of new equipment will also be simplified, since there are many times more narrow machines on the market than compact ones. What’s better is that you don’t have to put up with small capacity or poor quality washing - it’s easy to catch up with all the “hares” at once.
Miniature appliances under the sink
If you can’t buy a new sink, you’ll have to look for the best among compact washing machines. Miniature washing machines are less common than full-size and narrow ones, but you still have to compare and evaluate several dozen models. A short review of the most popular and sought-after “non-standard” slot machines will help you decide on your choice.
- Candy Aquamatic 1D835-07. Compact model from a well-known brand. The washing machine does not have a removable cover for installation, but due to its dimensions with a height of 70 cm, a width of 50 cm and a depth of 46 cm, it fits perfectly under the sink or in a set. The maximum load is 3.5 kg, and during the spin cycle the machine accelerates to 800 rpm.The basic set of programs includes 16 positions; the housing is also protected from leaks. Cost – about 276 dollars.
- Zanussi FCS1020C. A miniature washing machine from Zanussi, which has “built-in” dimensions: width 49.5 cm, depth 51.5 cm and height 67 cm. Due to its compact size, the FCS1020C will fit in any room, both under a standard sink and in a kitchen unit. But there are two tangible “buts”: firstly, no more than 3 kg of laundry is washed in one cycle, and secondly, the machine costs $523.
- Electrolux EWC 1350. The compact model from Electrolux is also “biting” in price, for which you will have to pay at least $570. For this amount, the user will receive a maximum load of 3 kg, 15 washing modes, mechanical control, full protection against leaks, reduced energy consumption and dimensions suitable for embedding. Thus, this washing machine reaches a height of only 67 cm, and the depth of the body is 51.5 cm. The spin cycle is also impressive, since the EWC 1350 is capable of accelerating to 1300 revolutions. However, according to consumer reviews, at this speed the machine vibrates strongly and “jumps.”
- Eurosoba 1000. The Swiss brand presents a miniature washing machine costing $620. In one cycle, no more than 3 kg of dry laundry is washed here, while the machine is protected from leaks, imbalance and increased foaming. Maximum spin speed is 1000 rpm, moderate noise level and non-standard black body color. Dimensions are suitable for placement under the sink: width and depth – 46 cm, and height – 68 cm.
- Eurosoba 1100 sprint. It is an improved model of Eurosoba 1000. Firstly, the maximum spin has increased to 1100 rpm. Secondly, the class of electricity consumption has increased from “A” to “A+”.Other characteristics have not changed: capacity of 3 kg and depth of 46 cm. Price – $846.
The average cost of a miniature washing machine ranges from $276 to $850.
A machine under the sink will save space and make the bathroom interior more harmonious. All that remains is to make a choice: a special hanging sink or miniature appliances.
