Water in the tray of a Bosch washing machine
If the Bosch display shows error code “F23,” then the control board has detected water entering the washing machine tray. A warning may appear at any stage of washing and requires immediate diagnosis and repair. There is a high probability that a leak has occurred, in which case it is prohibited to continue using the machine. You need to find the problem and fix it.
Where does the water come from?
Water in the pan appears only due to a leak, which can lead to several breakdowns at once. Washing machines from Bosch are distinguished by reliable components and high-quality materials, but due to manufacturing defects, careless handling and long-term operation, water accidents are possible. However, in most cases the problems are local and easily fixable.
As a rule, leaks on a Bosch washing machine are caused by:
- ruptured drain or inlet hose;
- incorrectly installed detergent tray;
- faulty Aquastop sensor, which randomly generates an error.
A leakage and error “F23” can be caused by a ruptured hose, an incorrectly installed dispenser and a faulty Aquastop sensor.
If the washing machine is equipped with a display, then the code “F23” will indicate that a leak has occurred. Machines without a screen will inform you that the pallet is full through the display. So, the LEDs indicating the spin speed of 600, 800 and 1000 and the “Rinse” light will start flashing simultaneously.
Let's determine where it's leaking
If you notice signs of a leak, you must immediately disconnect the washing machine from the power supply and turn off the water. You cannot touch the body until the machine is de-energized - if there are problems with the electronics, a “wet” machine can give you an electric shock.It’s better not to even touch the power cord, but to act through the apartment’s electrical panel.
Only after disconnecting the machine from communications can you begin checking the machine. First of all, we evaluate whether the powder receptacle is installed correctly. We take out the dispenser and put it back in place. Then we move on to diagnosing the drain system. The instructions are as follows:
- make sure that the washing machine is disconnected from the water supply and sewerage;
- remove the pan and drain the water;
- turn the machine on its side;
- look inside the machine, find the pump and evaluate the reliability of the joints between the pump and hoses;
- correct detected defects and replace damaged parts.
If water does not flow into the pan, but onto the floor next to the machine, then the seal is broken outside the body - at the junction of the machine and the inlet hose.
Another common place for leakage is the pipe connecting the inlet valve and the powder receptacle. To check its integrity, it is necessary remove the top cover machine and evaluate the dryness of the hose.
If there are no problems with the powder receiver, pump and pipes, then the problem is a faulty Aquastop sensor. The float needs to be adjusted.
We return the machine to functionality
That's not all. Many Bosch models refuse to work after the cause of the leak is discovered and eliminated. The fact is that to return the system to operating mode, you need to reset the error code “F23". The instructions on what to do are as follows:
- turn off the interrupted mode;
- disconnect the washing machine from the power supply (just unplug the power cord from the outlet);
- wait 5-20 minutes;
- connect the Bosch to electricity and press “Start”.
If after the “reboot” the error “F23” disappears from the display, then the reset was successful. Now Bosch will work as before, but provided that the cause of the leak has been eliminated.Otherwise the situation will repeat itself.
