How to turn on the Bosch Maxx 5 washing machine

“Newly-minted” owners of Bosch appliances do not always immediately understand how to turn on the Bosch Maxx 5 washing machine. In this material we will tell you how to start the washing process and how to properly operate the appliance. We will also list the main features of caring for it, which will help ensure that the machine serves you for many years.

Loading laundry and powder

The Bosch washing machine has a standard rectangular shaped powder compartment. To open it, you need to pull the handle. Due to the special stopper, the cuvette will not extend all the way. After opening the powder receptacle, you will find three compartments in it.

The first compartment (on the right) bears the Roman numeral “I”. It is used for pre-washing, so, as a rule, it is rarely used.
On the second compartment, located in the middle, a flower is drawn. This department is intended for fabric softener, starch or special fabric softener.
The third compartment bears the Roman numeral “II”. This section is used more often than others; powder for everyday laundry, Calgon to soften water and prevent scale formation, and various stain removers are poured into it.

It is recommended to pour powder into the first compartment only when pre-washing is necessary. For example, when we have heavily soiled underwear made of cotton or mixed fabric. Do not use too much powder, conditioner or bleach. This may damage your clothes and washing machine.

Increased foam formation due to an overdose of detergents can damage the digital module.

Before starting the wash, you need to put the laundry in the drum of the machine. Don't forget to sort your laundry first. Some items cannot be machine washed; information about this should be contained on the product tag.

You can’t wash all the laundry mixed together: white should be washed with white, dark with dark, colored with colored. Also, when choosing a program, you need to take into account the type of fabric and the number of items loaded. It is not recommended to start washing with a half-empty drum, but you should not overload it either. To calculate the optimal amount of laundry, pay attention to the maximum drum load and load a little more than half of the specified value.

Let's start the process

Having figured out how to connect the equipment and loaded the sorted laundry, do not rush to immediately press the power button. Check to see if the tee valve is open and if water is not entering the tank of the machine. After checking, do the following:

turn on the machine by pressing the “on/off” button;
close the drum lid tightly;
add detergent to the third compartment of the powder receptacle and close the tray tightly;
carefully study the washing programs on the control panel and select the most suitable mode;
find the “start” button and click on it;
After waiting for the washing to finish, turn off the machine, open the drum hatch and hang out the laundry.

During washing, you can change the program if necessary. To do this, press the “start” button, turn the program selector to the desired mode, and then press “start” again. The first program will be canceled, and the new one will start over.

If you made a mistake and chose to wash delicate fabrics at a high temperature, then after canceling it, instead of a new program, select the “rinse” mode first. This way the laundry will cool down and the negative consequences will be minimal.

Don't forget to take care of your machine

Any household appliance needs systematic care. The Bosch washing machine is no exception. To extend its service life, follow a number of recommendations.

After finishing washing, keep the drum hatch slightly open so that air can enter, an unpleasant odor does not appear and mold does not form.
After each wash, wipe the hatch cuff, drum, and powder receptacle compartments with a dry cloth.
Periodically (once every 4-5 washes), remove the garbage filter and wash out the dirt that has accumulated there.
Before washing, remember to check pockets for small parts. They must not get into the drum and tank.
At the end of the wash, be sure to close the tap.
Don't put too many things in the drum.

For safety reasons, it is prohibited to allow small children near the washing machine.
