However, to make tiles you need expensive equipment: a concrete mixer, a dryer and a vibrating table. Fortunately, you can save money and make your own vibrating table from a washing machine engine. We’ll tell you in today’s article how to make such a device with your own hands and what you need for it.

What is needed to make a vibrating table?

Creating such a table yourself is chosen in order to seriously save the family budget and not spend money on buying expensive equipment. Therefore, for production they usually use a minimum of tools, which will not hit the wallet. The list of consumables is relatively small.

Profile pipe.

The list of tools is already more impressive: we need a drill with drills for metal, a grinder with cutting wheels, an electric welder with suitable electrodes, a screwdriver, as well as a file, pliers and a hammer. The only special tool you need is a magnetic welding square, which can easily be found in any specialty store.

Description of the manufacturing process of a vibrating table

Before you start creating a vibrating table, make sure that all requirements for safe operation of power tools are met, and also be sure to use personal protective equipment. Now you can start manufacturing the equipment.

We cut 4 equal pieces of profile pipe to weld the frame.
We weld the frame, and weld the fifth piece of the profile inside. At this stage of the work, a magnetic square is needed to keep track of the 90 degree angle.
We weld a piece of steel pipe to the fifth profile, which is necessary to secure the washing machine motor.
We cut off the pipe blanks, and then move on to creating the vibrating table frame.

To save money, for the frame you can take the base of a household sawmill, which is distinguished by its increased strength, which is why it can withstand vibration; in addition, it is convenient due to the fact that the vibrating table can be disassembled at any time and the sawmill can be reassembled.

We drill holes at the bottom of the frame and weld nuts into which the support legs need to be screwed, for which we use long, strong bolts. For additional stability, you can make 4 small metal plates and weld them to the bolt heads.
At this stage, you need to cut 4 pieces of the corner and weld the upper frame from them. We cut off 4 plates, weld springs to them, then attach them to our frame from the corners.
Now the frame needs to be installed on top of the table, and the springs attached to the frame.
We place the washing machine motor in the prepared place.
At the top of the frame we attach a profile with a pulley, and then pull a belt to connect the electric motor pulley to the upper pulley.
We cut off the metal mesh and weld it to the frame from the corner.
Now you will need a piece of thin sheet metal from which we will make a protective casing for the washing machine motor.
Finally, we clean all the seams with a grinder, paint the vibrating table, and then attach the block with the control toggle switch to our frame.

Thus, in 12 steps, a vibrating table was created from an electric motor from an old washing machine, using a minimal set of tools. All that remains is to understand the principle of operation of the device.

How does a vibrating table work?

The device seems complicated only from the outside. First, you need to lay the form with the concrete mixture on the spring-loaded mesh, and then turn on the table. The motor will begin to create vibration, which is amplified on the surface due to the springs. Due to powerful vibration, air bubbles escape from the concrete, which increases the strength of the future tile. If desired, the electric motor can be connected to a special board to control the speed of the motor to control the strength of vibration.
