Complete cleaning once every six months

You can carry out complete manual cleaning of the PMM, or you can use the chemical method. First, let's look at the manual method.

Open the door of the washing chamber and remove the filter designed to drain the waste liquid.There is a small mesh installed behind the filter, which needs to be pulled out and washed under a powerful stream of hot water from the tap along with the filter itself. If the stains cannot be removed, you can try to remove them with an old toothbrush, or soak the parts in a solution of citric acid.

Depending on the dishwasher model, there may not be a filter mesh in the drain filter.

Behind the filter with a mesh you can find the pump impeller, which also needs to be removed. You first need to remove moisture from the hole, which can be done with a sponge. When the water runs out, you need to remove the pump cover by unscrewing the fixing screws. Inspect the impeller and remove all dirt from it.
Now you should remove the spray arms from the washing chamber and clean the nozzles. This can be done using ordinary toothpicks, not forgetting to record the result with a powerful stream of hot water.
Next, you need to clean the internal parts of the dishwasher. Dampen a sponge with detergent and thoroughly wipe the dish baskets, all shelves, holders, and the walls of the hopper. The final touch of work in the washing chamber will be cleaning the door and dispenser for household chemicals.
There are only a few steps left, one of which will be cleaning all the hoses, plus the inlet and flow filters. The flow one is usually installed near the tee on the pipe.
The last stage is the systematic treatment of the body with a wet and then a dry cloth. The easiest way to do this is with glass cleaning liquid.

These were all manual cleaning procedures that need to be done every six months. It is also recommended to carry out chemical cleaning twice a year, which will help remove scale and mold that has formed, plus prevent corrosion. An effective homemade detergent will help with this cleaning.

Take two glasses of baking soda, three large spoons of hydrogen peroxide, and twenty drops of any essential oil you like.
From these ingredients you need to roll small balls and place them on the bottom shelf in the washing chamber.

It is recommended to use detergents containing vinegar as little as possible, since the smell of vinegar is very difficult to completely remove.

If you notice a coating of rust

Rust can appear if you rarely care for the dishwasher or do not do it at all. If this happens to the internal components of the PMM, then mold or rust can be removed using household chemicals with a bleaching effect. The instructions will be as follows:

Mix the purchased detergent with water in a ratio of 1 to 10.
Wash all contaminated elements.
Remove all plaque using a sponge previously soaked in a solution of 2% ammonia.
Activate the rinse mode in the machine.

Try to use household bleaching chemicals as little as possible, since in large quantities they have a bad effect on the PMM, especially if the body is made of stainless steel, which should not come into contact with bleaches.

If rust has formed on a basket for metal cutlery, you can use a special sealant paint, or simply buy a new basket. If the pipes are damaged due to rust, they will have to be replaced. We recommend installing a water filter in advance if your home has poor-quality hard tap water - this will help save on repairs.
