There is no doubt that automatic dryers make life much easier for people, especially young parents or those who do not have the opportunity to dry clothes on a balcony or in the bathroom on a line. However, most citizens live in small apartments, where even a washing machine barely fits. Then what are the standard sizes of a clothes dryer, and is it possible to find a place for it in the average apartment?

What types of drum dryers are there?

Despite their practicality and convenience, dryers are much less common, which is why it is sometimes difficult for a potential buyer to imagine what this device is like. In fact, there is nothing special about the device; in appearance it is very similar to a washing machine: the same body, loading tank, control panel.

Hence the good news: if you have found a place in your apartment for a washing machine, then with a high probability, you actually have a place ready for a dryer. It is very convenient to place the dryer on top of the washing machine: it saves space and reduces vibration of the appliances during operation.

Important! In order to carry out such an arrangement, the dryer must be either identical in size to the washing machine, or be slightly smaller.

The standard parameters of the units are as follows:

• 0.55-0.6 meters wide;
• 0.55-0.65 meters deep;
• 0.8-0.85 in height.

In order to save space, manufacturers also offer built-in and compact models that will easily fit into the interior and will not take up much space. However, keep in mind that the smaller the drum, the worse the drying quality. Opt for models with a drum volume of at least 100 liters.

Dimensions of drying cabinets

Drying cabinets are the same dryers, only larger in size and different in design. The cabinet contains a chamber in which things are placed. Inside, during operation, there is rapid circulation of hot air with a specially designed ventilation system. Accordingly, here the drying efficiency depends not on the volume of the chamber, but on the height of the cabinet. The higher it is, the faster moisture leaves the chamber space due to rapid air circulation.

Attention! The choice of drying cabinets is much wider; some manufacturers even make them to order. Standard parameters are 1.8x0.6x0.6 meters (height, width, depth, respectively).

2. Electrolux EDD2400RH – drying cabinet: 1.85x0.6x0.6 meters.
3. HOTSTORM - this device is suitable for drying not only clothes, but also shoes. Dimensions: 1.8x0.6x0.495.
4. DION Standart 10 is a cabinet designed for drying linen and light clothes, very large compared to other models: 1.9x1.12x0.6 meters.
5. ShSO-2000 - a model that combines an automatic dryer and a drying cabinet, has two compartments: 1.81 x 0.8 x 0.51 meters.

Some cabinets have several compartments, so their width depends on the number of sections. The more compartments, the less heat loss during operation. For convenient operation, take models weighing no more than 60 kg.
