Washing the stroller in the washing machine

A stroller used every day for walking with a baby gets dirty quite quickly. Street dust and dirt do their job, as well as “surprises” from the child - stains from juice, milk, ice cream. Parents who are faced with the need to clean their child's vehicle for the first time are wondering how to quickly remove dirt. Is it possible to wash the stroller in a washing machine or is it advisable to do it by hand? Let's figure out how best to proceed.

Getting ready for laundry

So, after another walk, you noticed that it’s high time to “refresh” the stroller. Before you begin cleaning, you should read the information on the product label. Usually the label is located on the hood of the stroller. The label reads:

• what material is used (it can be leatherette, fabric or eco-leather);
• Is removable textile elements machine washable?
• what products will help with cleaning;
• preferred washing mode.

Afterwards, you need to disassemble the stroller: remove the cover, the mattress, in general, all the textiles that are detached from the frame. There should not be any difficulties in this process, since fabric elements are usually fastened with buttons.

The remaining parts of the product are washed entirely in the bath. It is necessary to place a stroller frame there with a non-removable hood, seat, etc. Metal elements are wiped with a rag, fabric elements are moistened with soapy water or powder, dirt can be removed from them using a brush. The stroller must be washed vertically. At the end of washing, be sure to rinse the surface well to prevent streaks from appearing.

Care options

If you want to clean an eco-leather stroller, you must do it manually. In this case, machine washing is excluded. You just need to moisten a sponge or rag in a special product for caring for leather products. If there are severe stains, they can be removed with ammonia. Ammonia is quite aggressive, so you only need to wipe it on heavily soiled areas.

Leatherette does not need any additional treatment with special household chemicals; it is enough to wipe the material with soapy water.

Stroller covers can be machine washed. It is better to place the elements in a special bag and run the delicate mode, heating the water to a temperature of 30°C. It is recommended to “refresh” the stroller once a week. "Plashevka" requires special, manual care. This fabric should be cleaned with a brush and a mild detergent. It is necessary to stop using stain removers and bleaches.

The children's mattress can be washed both in a machine and by hand. If you plan to wash it by hand, place the accessory in a soapy solution. When severe contamination is present, you need to treat the surface with a large amount of laundry soap and leave the mattress for 2-3 hours so that the product is absorbed. You can treat the product with a weak solution of water and soda.

Zippy strollers may only be cleaned by hand. Machine washing may damage delicate fabrics. The manufacturer does not provide a guarantee for material damage in such a situation.

Automatic wash

Stroller covers can be machine washed. The material will easily withstand short-term “chattering” in the drum on a delicate mode.Be sure to turn off the spin cycle (or at least select a speed of no more than 600 rpm) and set the water heating temperature to 30 degrees. Long programs should also be avoided; the fabric may deteriorate due to prolonged contact with water.

It is better to wash stroller covers with baby powder or gel, without using stain removers, bleaches, or conditioners.

Please observe the maximum loading weight and do not pack the drum too tightly. It is better to divide the products into two batches and run the cycles alternately. It is advisable to pre-wash stains that are difficult to remove by hand before placing them in the drum. It is also not recommended to use machine drying. It is better to dry the stroller elements naturally.

Can't remove fabric elements

If you can’t remove the textile parts from the stroller, it means you’ve got a non-separable model. Then, obviously, you will have to abandon automatic washing. When the stroller cannot be disassembled, you have to clean it entirely by hand.

The stroller is placed in the bathtub, after which it is doused with soapy water. If there are difficult stains on the textile, you should thoroughly wet the area with detergent and leave it for some time. Afterwards, go over all the elements with a brush. When processing, you need to move from top to bottom. When all the dirt has been removed, you need to rinse the stroller with a large volume of clean water. The washing is complete, all you have to do is wait for the excess liquid to drain.

It is important to clean not only the area where the child sits, but also the chassis. The fabric upholstery of the back and seat can be treated with a special carpet cleaner. The composition will remove dirt from non-removable matter.
