How to wash calico in a washing machine?

Calico tolerates machine washing quite well. The material can be easily washed with regular laundry detergent or gel and responds well to the softening effects of fabric softeners.
The control program in the automatic washing machine provides a special mode for different categories of fabrics. The permissible water temperature for washing calico is 30-60°C. To prevent the fabric from shrinking, manufacturers recommend choosing a gentle temperature of up to 40°C.
Bedding made from calico should be washed separately from linen made from other fabrics. Before washing, additionally sort by color. Calico of different colors should not be laid together. The fabric may fade.
To preserve the brightness of the fabric longer, pillowcases and duvet covers should be turned inside out when washing.
You can choose a regular (for cotton) or delicate washing mode at 600-800 rpm. The same goes for spinning. The stronger the spin, the more difficult it will be to iron the laundry, plus, there is a possibility of damaging the fabric. Before hanging laundry to dry, shake it well. This manipulation will straighten the fabric a little, thereby making subsequent ironing easier.
