Let's start with the differences.

• A semi-automatic washing machine requires the presence of a person to perform various operations (refilling water, transferring laundry from the washing tank to the centrifuge, etc.). The machine automatically performs the entire washing cycle without human intervention.
• The semi-automatic machine does not require communications, it only requires electricity. In addition to power supply, an automatic machine requires water supply and sewerage.
• The semi-automatic washing machine is easy to carry and transport, because it weighs on average 20 kg. There are models weighing 7-10 kg. Due to the heavy counterweights, an automatic washing machine weighs a lot - 80 kg or more, but there is nothing to say about the dimensions.
• An automatic washing machine is much more complex than a semi-automatic machine; it has an order of magnitude more different parts, which means it breaks down more often.
• A semi-automatic washing machine is much cheaper than its automatic counterpart.

The price difference is huge. Semi-automatic machines can be purchased for $60, while automatic washing machines cost an average of $400.

• The automatic washing machine has a bunch of washing programs and a lot of useful functions that allow you not only to carefully wash your clothes, but even to dry them. A semi-automatic washing machine cannot boast of this.
• A semi-automatic washing machine can be used practically in the field, in the country or on a long hike. If you have a diesel or gasoline power plant or a stationary electrical network, no problem, you can wash even a mountain of laundry.

As you can see, there are a lot of differences both in appearance and functionality. We can say that these are two completely different types of technology, but there are some similarities. Firstly, those other types of washing machines are designed to do laundry. For the most part, they are able to wash clothes, rinse them and spin them. And secondly, in both automatic and semi-automatic machines, washing is carried out using washing powders, even if they are different in composition and properties.

4. With two compartments - these machines have a compartment for washing and rinsing clothes, as well as a compartment for spinning.

Semi-automatic activator machines are extremely common. 93% of all semi-automatic machines have activators. Why is that? The main reason is that the activator mechanism is the simplest, cheapest and most reliable; in addition, it allows you to reduce the weight and dimensions of the equipment - the advantages are obvious. • Rolsen WVL-360D. Semi-automatic activator machine with two compartments. The washing compartment holds 3.6 kg of laundry, and the spin compartment holds 1.5 kg of laundry. There is a spacious tank with an activator and a loading capacity of 6 kg.A spacious and convenient centrifuge that can spin 2.5 kg of laundry at a speed of 1350 rpm. The difference between Slavda is that it has built-in imbalance control and a fluff filter; in addition, this machine belongs to energy consumption class A+.
• Assol XPB35-918S. A relatively compact activator washing machine with two compartments. This is one of the few portable models of semi-automatic machines that can not only wash, but also spin clothes. Load 3.5 kg – wash, 2.5 kg – spin. There are 2 washing programs, loading – vertical.

• Snow White B 5500-5LG. Quite a functional activator machine with two compartments with a capacity of 5.5 kg of laundry. The model is notable not even for the capacity of the washing tank, but for the capacity of the centrifuge - 5 kg of laundry. We did not check how effective the spinning of such a quantity of laundry is and we also did not find any test data. It is very likely that this information is fake.

To summarize, we note that a semi-automatic washing machine contains its main characteristics in the name. Since it is semi-automatic, it means that it can only carry out part of the operations without human intervention, and the rest will have to be done by the owner. But this is not always a disadvantage; in a number of situations, semi-automatic washing machines can be very useful, because they work where automatic washing machines cannot even start.
