Bosch washing machine service life

Bosch washing machine service lifePractice shows that brands that occupy leading positions in the product market reduce the level of product quality over time. This trend has not escaped the new generation of washing machines from the German concern Bosch. The average service life of a Bosch washing machine (modern) assumes 7 – 10 years of uninterrupted operation. At the same time, thousands of units produced in the early 2000s continue to work properly to this day.

About the Bosch machine resource

Bosch washing machines are produced not only in Germany. Only four of the forty-five factories are located on its territory. The remaining SMA manufacturers under this brand are located around the world: in France, Spain, Russia, Poland, Turkey and China. This weakens control over the assembly quality of household appliances.

Manufacturers' savings on high-quality materials and spare parts significantly reduce the service life of modern Bosch equipment. Its high price often does not meet consumer expectations. The “weak points” of the SMA of this brand include the tank and dispenser made of low-quality plastic (there is strong vibration and noise during washing, especially at 1000 rpm). As well as the use of low-strength metal and weak anti-corrosion coating, which leads to damage to the main mechanisms.

The absence of a number of options on budget washing machines, such as a display, automatic control of the proportions of washing powder and water to the weight of laundry, is also a reason for consumer complaints. How many years will it take for the washing machine to go to the trash heap?

According to the technical characteristics, the washing machine should work from 10 to 15 years. But in fact, the service life of each 14 automatic machine is about 5 years. And every 26 SMAs undergo serious damage within two to three years.

Important! It is worth distinguishing between the warranty period and the operating life of the unit. After the warranty expires, servicing of household appliances becomes paid.

Taking into account the fact that the warranty for most models is given for 2 years, ordering spare parts and repairing the machine at your own expense is sometimes equal to the cost of a new SMA of a different brand.

Popularity of Bosch appliances

Washing machines are one of the items in the multi-thousand product range of the industrial giant Bosch. Despite its shortcomings, its SMAs occupy the highest places in consumer ratings. The advantages of the brand’s smart washing machines are evidenced by various important indicators.

  1. Variety of models (more than 120). The market offers machines with vertical, horizontal and front loading. Built-in appliances and drying units.
  2. Wide range of SMAs with different dimensions. Among them are narrow models with large-sized machine options.
  3. Economical consumption of electricity (class A+ and A++) and water and detergents.
  4. Availability of a system for monitoring water leakage and foam formation.why Bosch is so popular
  5. Delay start function (you can interrupt and start washing again at a convenient time).
  6. Stylish design.
  7. 2 year warranty.
  8. Compliance with international and Russian standards.
  9. Loyal pricing policy (from “budget” to premium models).

The advantages of the Bosch washing machine greatly outweigh its disadvantages. To finally decide on a model, you can consult with a specialist, ask friends, read reviews in the Internet. And by strictly following the operating instructions, you can avoid most failures in the operation of this irreplaceable assistant in everyday life.

I wanted to buy a 6 series washing machine, but judging by the reviews, the service life has been greatly reduced - after 1.5 years there will be an expensive repair! And the warranty, by the way, is no longer 2, but only 1 year.

I have a Bosch car, assembled in St. Petersburg. Service life 10 years. Bought in June 2017, used for 3 years. In August 2020, noise appeared, whistling from the drum and began to chew rubber. I contacted the service center, and it turned out that the crosspiece at the drum had rotted. Cannot be repaired. I'm shocked!

Yes, it's terrible when the quality starts to be bad. I have a Bosch Max 4, purchased at the beginning of 2000, that just completely broke down. I looked at all the new ones and felt so sad :)

My machine seems to be worthy of the Guinness Book of Records - it has been working properly for almost 25 years.
