Sun icon on the dishwasher
Buying a new dishwasher always brings not only the joy of the acquisition, but also new questions about how to properly use complex household appliances. In this case, you should carefully study the instructions and general recommendations of the manufacturer in order to know about all the capabilities of the “home assistant”. For example, some important functions are indicated by special icons rather than words to save space on the unit panel. And how can you understand without words what the sun icon on a dishwasher means?
Let's decipher the “sun” on the PMM panel
Often the sun pattern on household appliances is present not only on the panel, but also on one of the dispensers for household chemicals. In all cases, this symbol means rinse aid. Therefore, when the sun lit up on the PMM, it means that the device was started without rinse aid. With this signal, the unit tells you that for maximum productivity you need to add these household chemicals.
You can wash tableware without rinse aid, but in this case the dishes will not shine brightly after the working cycle.
The icon on the dispenser is only needed as a reminder that it is in this section that the rinse aid should be added. Therefore, when, during the launch of the PMM, you suddenly discover that the sun is on fire, you will no longer have questions.
Indicators of PMM modes and operation
But the sun is not the only icon that can confuse owners of new household appliances. Let's look at the most basic icons that often cause confusion among new PMM users.
- A pan with a stand means a mode in which very hot water (usually 70 degrees Celsius) can wash away the most serious stains. Operation in this mode takes 115 minutes and consumes 21 liters of liquid;
- Cup on saucers or the signature “Auto” is an automatic or basic mode in which washing is carried out at a temperature of 45-65 degrees. Session duration is about 140 minutes, consumption of 19 liters of water, suitable for all utensils except fragile and delicate ones;
- A glass and cup on the plate or the signature “ECO” signal that this is an economical mode. The program will first pre-rinse the dishes and then rinse them at a temperature of 50 degrees. In 140 minutes the machine uses only 14 liters of water;
- The glass and cup on the stand along with two arrows to the right is a fast mode without rinsing. The function is needed to quickly wash lightly soiled dishes in half an hour using only 10 liters of water heated to 45 degrees;
- A kind of “shower” of water drops means preliminary rinsing of the dishes. The mode is necessary in order to prepare tableware for further washing. 19 minutes of work and only 4 liters of water;
- One glass characterizes the delicate mode of operation, working with water temperatures heated to just 40 degrees. In 75 minutes, the machine will wash glasses and other fragile glass objects, spending 15 liters of water;
- The letter h and plus and minus are a designation for adjusting the working cycle time;
- A clock with two arrows to the right and the signature “VarioSpeed” will reduce the operating time of the dishwasher by half;
- The ½ icon indicates half load mode, which is necessary in situations where you don't have a lot of dirty dishes.In this mode, the equipment will save 30% of its resources during operation;
- A pan with rocker arms and the signature “IntensiveZone” is an intensive mode, by choosing which, the water pressure at the bottom of the device will be much more powerful than at the top;
- Baby bottle means a special hygienic regime for cutlery at high temperatures. It's perfect for washing baby dishes;
- The “Start” button is needed to start work;
- The Reset button is necessary to reset the dishwasher.
These are the main indicators that you need to know in order to use the capabilities of your new “home assistant” to the maximum. You should also understand what the lights on the PMM body mean, added by the manufacturer to communicate various information to the user. The brush sign is a wash indicator, “End” indicates the end of the work cycle, the tap sign signals the water supply, and the wavy arrows are a signal that there is or is no salt in the dishwasher salt reservoir. Thus, there are not many different indicators and pictograms on the dishwasher, so all of them can be learned in just a few starts of washing dishes.
