How to remove the front panel on a Bosch washing machine?

How to remove the front panel on a Bosch washing machineYou can handle most washing machine breakdowns yourself. This will require a “head on your shoulders,” a minimum set of tools and free time. The most difficult task is to correctly identify the cause of the malfunction. To carry out diagnostics, you will have to look inside the device. Let's figure out how to remove the front panel of a Bosch machine to gain access to the main components of the equipment.

Preliminary preparation

Before you begin disassembling the washing machine, make sure that the equipment is de-energized. Next, you need to turn off the water supply tap, disconnect the inlet hose and drain hose from the body. Afterwards, you can move the machine to the center of the room to have free access to the equipment.

For disassembly you will need tools that are found in every home. These are Phillips and slotted screwdrivers and pliers. Some Bosch models have special mounting screws, which may require a torx screwdriver.

Dismantling the front panel is carried out in stages. It is important to follow the order of steps so as not to damage the equipment. The sequence of actions is as follows:remove the top cover

  • removing the top housing cover;
  • detaching the lower decorative panel;
  • removing the powder receptacle;
  • dismantling the control panel;
  • disabling UBL;
  • Removing the front panel.

The washing machine should be disassembled following basic safety rules. We will tell you in more detail how to perform each of the dismantling stages.

Removing the cover

The “top” of the case protects the “insides” of the washing machine from dust, dirt, moisture and mechanical damage. The panel is secured with two bolts.To unscrew them, you will need a regular Phillips screwdriver.

When unscrewing the screws and disconnecting small parts, put them aside so as not to lose them, and then assemble the washing machine without any problems.

If you lose sight of a bolt or latch, you will have to run around the shops and look for suitable components. And this is additional trouble.

After the bolts are unscrewed, stand behind the machine, grab the “top” and pull the cover towards you. When it moves horizontally a couple of centimeters, you can lift the panel and remove it completely. The design of the fastenings is such that immediately pulling it up is pointless.

It is very easy to remove the powder receptacle and remove the false panel. Pull the container towards you until it stops, then press the central tab and remove the cuvette. The decorative bottom cover is detached after “prying” the plastic latches with a screwdriver.

Removing the electronic panel

Be very careful when removing the control panel. At this stage you need to act as accurately as possible. If the board is damaged or wires are broken, you will have to pay for expensive repairs.

To remove the control panel:

  • unscrew the bolts holding it;
  • use a thin screwdriver to pry up the plastic latches located around the perimeter, slightly pull up and open the fastenings;
  • move the panel to your side to release the lower latches.

When the fasteners come out of the grooves, you will hear characteristic clicks, so don’t be alarmed. When removing the electronic panel, it is important to ensure that the wiring connecting the element to the control module is intact. It is not necessary to disconnect the wires; just carefully place the board on top of the washing machine.

Lock and front panel

Now the hatch locking device prevents you from removing the front cover. Removing the lock is not difficult if you figure out how to do it. The algorithm will be like this:

  • open the door, loosen the clamp securing the hatch cuff, remove the hoop;
  • insert the rubber seal inside the drum;
  • gain access to the blocker;
  • Unscrew the two screws located between the lock hook and the locking device;
  • remove the part;
  • take a photo of the connection diagram, then disconnect the wires and remove the lock.

removing the front wall

Now removing the front cover of the case will not be difficult. All that remains is to unscrew the screws located around the perimeter of the front panel. Next, you can begin diagnosing the washing machine.
