How to remove the front panel of an Indesit washing machine?

The need to remove the front panel of the Indesit washing machine arises when the machine is completely disassembled, the cuff is replaced, the UBL is repaired, or the tank is removed. For any task, you will have to carefully get rid of the end of the washer without damaging the part itself, the body and neighboring elements. This is not easy to do, but it is quite possible even without the involvement of service center specialists. The main thing is to prepare Phillips and slotted screwdrivers and do not deviate from our instructions.

Set up your workplace

Of course, you can disassemble the washing machine right on the spot. But it is more convenient and safer to do this in a spacious and well-lit room. Ideally, the unit should be moved to a garage or workshop, but you can get by in the kitchen or hallway. The main thing is to free up at least 2 square meters. m., move the equipment away from the wall or pull it out of the kitchen unit. Next, we prepare the equipment for removing the panel using the following algorithm.

1. Cover the work area with rags or newspapers.
2. We disconnect the machine from communications, electricity, water supply and sewerage.
3. We move the unit to the selected prepared location.
4. Pull the powder receiver tray towards you and remove it from the housing.
5. Use a screwdriver to pry up the narrow decorative panel and remove it from the plastic latches-holders.

Beginning craftsmen need to record their actions with a camera to avoid problems during reassembly.

Lastly, the garbage filter is removed. But first, you should place a container under it, since waste liquid always accumulates in its seat.Afterwards, you can safely grab the protrusion of the part and unscrew it, rotating your hand clockwise. As soon as the nozzle is removed, we proceed to dismantling the front panel.

Dismantling instructions

As soon as the machine is ready, we begin disassembling. First of all, we remove the cover: unscrew the two screws holding it on both sides of the back panel and, lifting the back part of the part, push the plastic piece away from us. You cannot press too hard, otherwise the plastic latches securing the body will break, and it will be impossible to return the top of the washer.

The top covers on Indesit machines are equipped with tight latches that are difficult to open the first time.

Next we turn our attention to the dashboard. To disassemble it, you must adhere to the following plan.

1. We unscrew the bolts holding the module at the powder receptacle niche.
2. Remove another lock located on the top left of the washing machine body.
3. We pull the panel towards ourselves until the latches “work”. You must be careful not to break the wires connected to the electronic unit.
4. We release the wire leading from the block to the filling valve.
5. We hook the panel onto the service hook.
6. We loosen the clamp by picking it up with a screwdriver and tuck the freed hatch cuff inside the drum.
7. We unscrew the UBL fasteners so as not to damage the wires of the locking mechanism during subsequent dismantling.

Now all that remains is to unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the front wall and remove the panel. To avoid losing the fasteners, it is recommended to place them and other small elements in the inverted top cover. It is not necessary to try to disassemble the hatch door: even without dismantling it, the end of the machine will leave its rightful place without any problems.
