Error F43 in a Bosch washing machine
As soon as a Bosch washing machine displays an error, it means that it will no longer function properly. To restore the functionality of your home assistant, you need to know what codes mean what and how to troubleshoot problems associated with them. For example, what to do if you see error F43 in a Bosch washing machine?
Where did the code come from?
As a rule, this error is displayed if the machine has difficulty rotating the drum or operating the motor. By the way, the presence of this kind of problem is not necessarily accompanied by a code; sometimes the behavior of the unit reveals problems - the machine literally rotates the drum through force, while literally bouncing in place. In turn, there may be several reasons for this.
- Failure or malfunction of the tachometer. The function of this element is to notify the electronic module about operating characteristics engine. When something is wrong, the car's brain simply does not understand what is happening to the engine. The solution is to replace the tachogenerator.
- Damage to the control unit. It is difficult to do anything with your own hands; only a qualified specialist can diagnose and repair the breakdown. Perhaps everything is fine with the motor and drum, the machine just doesn’t understand it.
- Bearings are worn out. Bearings are metal rings that act as a connecting link between the cross and the drum. During active use, they are the first to fail. If you start the problem, the next thing in line will be the cross, and then not far from the drum. The part can be safely replaced to prevent problems in the future.
- A foreign object has blocked the drum.Even if you take out change from your pockets, fasten the locks, etc., this is not a guarantee that the drum is not in danger. There are known cases when a bra wire blocked the operation of the SM, and then completely pierced the tank. No one is immune from such a problem, so it only needs to be solved promptly, then, perhaps, expensive long-term repairs will not be required.
Important! Do not forget that overloading the drum can also cause error F43. Nothing will happen just once, but if you do it regularly, then defects will inevitably appear.
We remove a dangerous object without disassembling it
Usually the error appears during washing. To carry out diagnostics, stop the program, open the hatch, remove some of the laundry and try to start the process again. If the code disappears, it means that the problem was an overload and was successfully resolved. Remember how much laundry created the error and take this into account in the future.
If the drum is jammed by some foreign object, the error code may not be displayed. However, you will undoubtedly know that something is wrong due to strange noises and knocking. The cause of a failure can be both obvious things like buttons and coins, and completely unpredictable things like socks or tights. An item can get stuck in three places:
- at the bottom of the drum or at the bottom of the tank;
- between the walls of the tank and the drum;
- wound around the drum.
It is not difficult to detect where the fault is located. Stop the operation of the SM and disconnect it from the power supply. Take the flashlight in one hand and slowly spin the drum with the other. If the object is solid, then you will detect it by a characteristic knock; if not, use a flashlight to examine all possible places where it may be.
Removing an item with disassembly
The problem is not always solved so simply; sometimes you still have to disassemble the washing machine to extract the source of the problem. It is better to do this through the back panel of the SM. Remove it by unscrewing the bolts. Pay attention to the heating element, whether it is clogged with scale and plaque, who knows, maybe this is the problem. If everything is in order, remove the heating element.
Now you need to remove the pulley. This can be done only by removing the fastening bolt, however, after removing the pulley, the fasteners must be put in place, but not screwed in to the maximum. To get to the stuck item, move the drum and shaft towards the tank, freeing up space for yourself. To move the shaft, take a hammer with a thick head and tap the cut.
Attention! After completing all the steps, you can reassemble the machine, connect it to the network and run a test wash. If even in this case the F43 code does not disappear, you need to contact a technician; only he can correctly diagnose the problem and help fix it.
After this, spin the drum again. If you hear a knock, try to reach the object with your hand through the hole from the heating element. In case of failure/inability to reach, use a wire or other thin longitudinal tool.
