Ardo washing machine does not heat water

If Ardo does not heat the water, then you will have to forget about quality washing. The machine will “freeze” without starting the selected high-temperature cycle, or will spin things at a minimum of 20-30 degrees. In any case, the clothes will remain dirty. You cannot operate a washing machine with a heating problem - you need to find the problem and fix it. We'll tell you how to do this point by point.

Why does the water stay cold?

The most obvious cause of missing heat is a broken tubular electric heater. But before you “blame” him, you should rule out less serious problems. Moreover, broken parts do not always lead to problems. Sometimes it’s a matter of simple user inattention. First of all, we check whether the heating should have been activated. We look at the dashboard, or more precisely, at the included program. In the “Delicate Wash”, “Sports Shoes”, “Wool” and “Silk” modes, the machine will not heat the water - this is included in the factory settings. High temperature cycles include Cotton 60, Synthetic and Intensive.

A number of programs on the Ardo washing machine do not require heating water above 30 degrees.

If the “hot” mode is selected, then look at the set degrees. Improved Ardo gives the user the ability to vary the heating temperature by changing the factory-set parameters. But sometimes the system “does not see” the changes made due to a technical failure. It’s better to check again: scroll the selector, press the appropriate buttons and restart the cycle. It is important to verify the absence of heating experimentally.Cold laundry after washing is not an argument, since the final rinse always takes place at 30 degrees, which cools the items before spinning. There is a more effective and reliable way to check the serviceability of the heating element.

• Run any high temperature cycle with heating above 40 degrees, ideally 60-90 degrees.
• Wait until the machine washes for at least 15 minutes (it is important that the machine does not have time to switch to rinsing).

• Assess the degree of heating (if the glass is not cold, it means that the machine has heated the water to the required degrees).

If the door glass of an Ardo machine remains cold in the middle of a high-temperature cycle, then diagnostics are indispensable. You will have to identify the causes of the malfunction and try to eliminate them. What kind of breakdowns are we talking about and whether independent repair is possible? Let’s look at it in detail.

Typical faults

A modern Ardo washing machine will not operate in an unsafe mode. The built-in self-diagnosis system before the start of the cycle will detect problems with heating, and the machine will refuse to start the program. Another option is also possible: the wash will start, but the items will be washed not in hot water, but in cold water. The last option is worse - the operation of a faulty washing machine threatens to worsen the situation, even leading to the “death” of the equipment. It is better to immediately begin diagnostics if you suspect missing heating. First of all, we determine the reasons for such a failure. There are five of them.

• Broken pressure switch. If the level sensor fails, the control board does not receive information about the fullness of the tank. It is logical that the module does not activate heating and cancels the running wash.
• Damaged wiring.Another option is that the board gives a signal to the heating element, but due to problems with the wiring, the command does not reach the recipient.
• Faulty heating element. Natural wear of the part, mechanical damage or overheating due to a thick layer of scale or a short circuit may occur.
• Incorrect thermistor. This sensor monitors the water temperature. If it breaks, heating stops for safety reasons.
• Non-functional control board. The resistor could burn out, the contacts could come loose, or the “track” corresponding to the heater could be damaged.

To identify a breakdown, it is necessary to sequentially check each “weak spot”. You can cope with the task at home without calling specialists. The main thing is to follow safety precautions and act according to the instructions.

Testing and changing the heating element

The first on the list is the heating element and the thermistor connected to it. To get to the parts, you need to remove the back panel from the Ardo and look at the metal “plate” under the tank. But first, the equipment is disconnected from the supplied communications and, for convenience, is moved to the center of the room.

Any repair of an Ardo washing machine begins with disconnecting the equipment from the supplied communications!

It is difficult to confuse a heating element with another device - it is always located under the tank and surrounded by many connected wires. It is better to photograph the existing connections and the location of the contacts so as not to make mistakes during reassembly. Next, we act strictly according to the instructions.

1. Carefully unhook the wiring from the chips.
2. We turn on the multimeter in the “Ohmmeter” mode, set it to 200 Ohms and touch the probes to the contacts.
3. We look at the display. Normally, the heater produces a reading of 26-28 ohms.If “1” or “0” is displayed, then the problem is an internal break or short circuit. In extreme cases, repair will not help - only replacing the heating element.

Checking the heater does not end there. It is also recommended to test the part for breakdown. We switch the multimeter to the buzzer and apply the probes to the body. If you hear a squeaking sound, it means the part is damaged and needs to be replaced. Before replacement, the non-working heater is removed from the washing machine. Sometimes dismantling is complicated by a gasket that swells and prevents the part from leaving the seat. To eliminate this “obstacle”, you need:

• generously lubricate the rubber band with WD-40 or any technical oil;
• let the product “work” for 10-15 minutes;
• unhook the thermistor from the heating element;
• loosen the central bolt;
• swing the part and remove it from the “socket”.

It is recommended to take a serious approach to finding a replacement heating element. A new heater is selected according to the markings stamped on the element body. Ideally, you need to bring the dismantled device to the store and ask for an analogue. Installing a new heater begins with cleaning the seat. At the same time, we also clean the tank through the hole freed from the heating element. The machine is assembled in reverse order based on the photographs taken.

Is it a level sensor?

The second possible reason for heating not working is a broken pressure switch. It’s easy to check its condition: remove the top cover from the Ardo case and find the level sensor on the right wall. The device looks like a “puck” and often has a blue or black body color. A long tube-hose extends from the round “box” into the tank. Diagnostics of the pressure switch is carried out according to the following instructions:

• disconnect the pressure switch tube from the housing;
• find a hose commensurate with the diameter of the sensor fitting;
• attach the found hose to the tube;
• easy to blow into the tube;
• listen: a working device will “answer” with 1-3 clicks of triggered contacts.

A broken pressure switch will remain silent. If the first stage did not reveal any problems, then we move on to the second: we inspect the tube for chips, blockages, traces of burning and other defects. If necessary, rinse the hose and blow it out. The third step is calling with a multimeter:

• we study the electrical circuit of the pressure switch and find contacts suitable for connecting to a multimeter;
• turn the tester into ohmmeter mode;
• We cling with probes to the sensor contacts;
• look at the readings (normally the values ​​should change).

If the pressure switch does not pass the test, then there is no point in repairing it - it is cheaper and easier to replace it with a new one. First, the faulty device is removed: the clamps are loosened, the wires are disconnected and the retaining bolts are unscrewed. Then a similar sensor is purchased and installed in the reverse order.

Self-diagnosis of electronics is too risky! If you suspect that the control board is broken, you should immediately contact the service center!

It is worse if during diagnostics a malfunction of the heating element and level sensor is proven. Then there is a high probability that the control board is broken. In this case, it is strongly not recommended to carry out independent inspection and repair - it is better to immediately contact the service center for professional help.
