How many capsules do you need to wash clothes in a washing machine?
Despite the fact that laundry capsules have taken their place on the market for quite some time, most users continue to consider them an innovation and are wary of trying this product. Is it really effective, how to use it, how many capsules are needed to wash clothes? We will try to answer these questions in sufficient detail.
Required number of capsules
It is not so difficult to find the answer to the question of how many capsules of a particular product are needed for one wash. Manufacturers print information about this, as well as about the purposes for which certain capsules are intended (black clothes, children's clothing, colored fabrics), on the product packaging. Therefore, be sure to read the instructions before use!
As a rule, the dosage is the same even for different products: 1 pad for 4-5 kilograms of things. For most washing machines, this is the full load of the drum. If you have a large washing machine with a larger load volume, you may need 2 capsules.
Attention! Do not exceed the recommended dosage of capsules, otherwise during the washing process too much foam will be produced, which will then be problematic to completely wash out of the fibers.
What are the capsules made of?
Capsules are soft pads filled with detergent. Sometimes one capsule consists of several separate sections with liquid of different colors. This means that the sections contain different substances. This is especially common with Tide, Ariel and Losk capsules. The manufacturer indicates the number and composition of sections on the packaging. Inside you can find:
- washing gel;
- stain remover;
- bleach;
- rinse aid
The capsule shell is a substance that dissolves upon prolonged contact with water. When washing begins, the film dissolves, the contents of the capsule flow into the drum of the washing machine, come into contact with water and form washing foam.
Correct use of capsules
The quality of washing clothes depends on the correct use of capsules. The main rule: the pads are not placed in the powder tray, but directly in the drum. The powder receptacle does not contact water long enough, so the capsule placed there will not have time to dissolve, and the gel will not get into the drum of the washing machine.
A pad left in the dispenser will stick to the bottom or walls over time, and small amounts of product will leak into the drum not only during the main wash, but also during rinsing, when there should only be conditioner in the drum.
Choose the right capsules
Stores are now full of different types of washing machine pods, and the selection continues to expand. There are both universal and specialized ones. Let's give examples.
- Capsules for washing children's clothes. Children are more susceptible to skin allergies than adults, so detergents for washing children's clothes should contain purely hypoallergenic substances. The composition of such products is developed especially carefully so that, while being safe, they continue to perform well their main function - washing things. Tide has capsules that are called: “For children's things.” Ariel has Sensitive capsules suitable for children's clothing.
- Capsules for washing black clothes. These pads usually contain substances that prevent the bright color pigment from being washed out of the fibers. Capsules for colored items also have similar specificity, but they are also suitable for light shades (Tide Color).
- Pads for white clothes. They are full of active stain-removing and bleaching agents (Ariel Mountain Spring).
Thus, choose the capsules for washing in the washing machine depending on your purposes. You can choose universal ones, or purchase several different sets for all occasions.
