Russian-made washing machines
Recently, washing machines with the inscription “Made in Russia” have become increasingly common, which undoubtedly aroused the interest of buyers. What does such an inscription mean? Are washing machines really produced in Russia, and can they be called Russian, or is this just a marketing ploy? Many people remember domestically produced household appliances with high quality and service life, but can the same be said about Russian washing machines, if any, let’s figure it out.
Production or assembly in Russia: what is the difference?
The production of washing machines in Russia has been going on since Soviet times. Everyone knows such activator-type machines as “Malyutka”, “Ob”, “Fairy”; even semi-automatic models were produced. But as for the production of automatic washing machines, The first Soviet automatic washing machine can be called the Vyatka-12 machine, produced on February 23, 1981. However, even this machine is not 100% Soviet, since it was assembled according to the diagrams of Ariston washing machines.
Today, the washing machines of the Kirov Vyatka plant also cannot be completely called Russian, since in 2005 the plant was bought by the Candy campaign. They updated all equipment and continued to develop the production of washing machines, introducing their technologies. Such washing machines can only be called washing machines assembled on the territory of Russia, but not Russian.
Important! Only those produced under their own brand and assembled using their own technologies can be considered Russian-made washing machines.They are also called domestically produced washing machines.
Most of the enterprises that assemble washing machines are representative offices of well-known foreign companies (Germany, Italy, Korea) or enterprises that have purchased the right to use a well-known trademark and brand. About washing machines manufactured at such enterprises, they say that they were only assembled by the hands of Russian workers.
Washing machine brands
In Russia, washing machines are assembled under the following brands:
- Indesit and Hotpoint Ariston - the production of washing machines under these Italian brands is carried out at the plant in Lipetsk;
- LG - production of washing machines with the Korean brand is carried out in the Moscow region (Ruza);
- Samsung - washing machines with this Korean brand are produced in the Kaluga region;
- Beko and Vestel - washing machines with Turkish brands are manufactured in the Vladimir region (Kirzhach and Alexandrov);
- Bosch and Siemens - assembled in St. Petersburg;
- Candy – produced at the Vyatka plant in Kirov;
- Atlant - washing machines under the Belarusian brand are produced in Moscow.
Russian-made automatic washing machines are produced at the Far Eastern plant "Ocean". They offer both front-loading and top-loading models. Basically, Russian washing machines are the simplest activator washing machines with and without spin, loved by summer residents because of their small size and mobility. An example of such a machine is the semi-automatic machine “Sibir”, produced at a plant in Omsk.
The Evgo company, located in Khabarovsk, also produces automatic washing machines. But these machines can be conditionally called Russian, since they are assembled from Chinese components.
Let's celebrate! Very often, companies counterfeit washing machines of popular brands and indicate the country of origin of the brand as the country of manufacture, and not the country where the washing machine was assembled.
Features of Russian washing machines
The peculiarities of the production of washing machines in Russia lie in the peculiarities of demand in the market. Domestic consumers are interested in washing machines with the following characteristics:
- front type of laundry loading;
- small-sized machines with shallow depth;
- large load of laundry;
- economical in energy and water consumption.
Unlike Europeans, our people prefer front-loading washing machines, and most of the production is focused on such machines. Only among the “washing machines” from Ariston there are models with vertical loading, assembled in Russia. Most of the campaigns are also focused on the production of equipment that is not standard in size. These are washing machines:
- with a reduced depth of 50 to 55 cm are produced at the Beko, Ariston, Atlant factories. Kandy;
Only manufacturers Kandy, Ariston, Atlant and LG have full-size machines. - narrow machines with a depth of 49 to 39 cm. The most common machines are with a depth of 40 cm, and are found with a depth of 39, 42, 45, 47 cm;
- super narrow washing machines with a depth of 36 to 33 cm, such machines are available under the brands Kandy, Ariston, Atlant, Indesit, Beko.
With narrow dimensions, washing machines lose maximum load of laundry, but in Russian-assembled machines this problem has been solved. For example, a Kandy machine washes 4.5 kg of laundry at a depth of 33 cm; at a depth of 40 cm, the load increases to 7 kg. Standard Russian-assembled washing machines are produced with a load of up to 8 kg.
If you choose a washing machine assembled in Russia, then only one equipped with full protection against leaks and protection against power surges. Washing machines from Bosch, Ariston, Indesit, and LG have protection against leaks. Partial ones are available in Atlanta and Beko, they also have protection against power surges.
As for energy consumption, like European ones, domestically assembled machines have efficiency class A. The average water consumption also does not exceed 45 liters. This is achieved not only by reducing the amount of laundry, but also by using the latest technologies, such as Smart Technology, Inverter Direct Drive.
Value for money and build quality
The production and assembly of washing machines in Russia has led to a significant decline in the quality of the equipment. But at the same time, the price also decreased, which made it affordable for the majority of the population of our country. After several years of operating Russian-assembled machines, service center technicians came to the conclusion that such machines are among the most unreliable.
Statistics show that Russian-assembled Indesit washing machines are most often repaired. Also, “Russian Bosch” often end up being repaired, the price of which is an order of magnitude lower than washing machines of the same brand, but made in Germany. Russian machines Beko, Vestel and Kandy are short-lived. If we compare the service life of machines assembled in Russia, it is the shortest.
- The machines, assembled in Russia from Chinese components, operate without failure for 2 years.
- Russian-assembled washing machines made from original spare parts (German, Italian, etc.) last an average of 5 years.
- Chinese washing machines also last an average of 5 years.
- Washing machines made in Korea or Italy last up to 8 years.
- French and German assembled washing machines can last from 10 to 16 years.
- The most reliable are washing machines assembled in Austria and Sweden. Their service life, depending on operating conditions, varies from 14 to 20 years.
When purchasing a washing machine, you need to pay special attention to the country in which it was assembled. Lately it will be quite difficult to find washing machines of the original assembly of those brands that are assembled in Russia. For example, Bosch is German-assembled, LG and Samsung are Korean-assembled (mainly Russia and China). Washing machines made in China and Russia are the cheapest, so the demand for them has increased significantly over the past few years.
For your information! Washing machines of famous brands, in addition to Russia, are assembled in China, France, Poland, and Slovenia. Their quality is also inferior to the original ones, but superior to Russian ones.
Review of washing machine models
To fully understand what Russian-assembled washing machines are like, here are several specific models with their main characteristics.
- Washing machines “Vyatka-Maria” and “Vyatka-Katyusha” are automatic machines, the first of which has standard dimensions of 85x60x54 cm and a load of laundry up to 5 kg, the second machine is narrow and has a depth of 45 cm, its load is 4 kg of dry laundry. The peculiarity is that the tank is made of stainless metal. These washing machines belong to the economy class, their cost is around $110.
- Indesit IWUB 4085 is an automatic machine with a depth of only 33 cm, which allows it to be installed in small spaces. In this case, the largest load of laundry is 4 kg.When spinning, it accelerates to 800 rpm, which determines spin class D. It has partial protection against leaks. The cost of such machines from Indesit varies between $130-150.
- Bosch WLG 24260 OE is an automatic machine with front loading of laundry, with a maximum load of 5 kg. The depth of this machine is only 40 cm. The spin speed is up to 1200. This machine has a 3D aquaspar system that provides moisture to the laundry, which saves water consumption. A functional display that Russian consumers pay special attention to. They have an acceptable cost up to $230.
- Hotpoint-Ariston VMUF 501 B is a narrow front-facing machine with a load capacity of up to 5 kg and a spin speed of up to 1000 rpm. One of the features worth noting is the anti-allergy function. Cost up to $180.
- Ocean WFO-860S3 is a Russian machine with a vertical loading type and electronic control. Has a water level display. In addition to the conditioner compartment, there is a laundry bleach compartment. It is possible to add laundry after turning on the machine. The dimensions are 91x52x53cm, this allows you to place the machine in a narrow bathroom.
So, among Russian-made washing machines, it is quite possible to find a good option for home use at a relatively low cost. It is best to choose washing machines from brands that are assembled from original spare parts, and the assembly process is properly monitored. And remember that even expensive equipment can break.
Which is the best machine?
Only LG!
I don't think so!
Miele!
Where can I get spare parts if something happens? I have Vyatka Katyusha. The truth is old, but so what. The hook on the hatch broke. So, should I buy a new washing machine because of this? And the old one works well. Where can I get this hook? Nowhere.
I have Vyatka-Katyusha for 16 years now, she has been doing laundry. I understand that I’m getting old, but I don’t want another one. If there were any breakdowns, the technician fixed them at home. Where can I buy one?
Please tell me if there are washing machines with a standard depth, but narrow on the facade, when savings are needed not in the area of the room, but in the size of the furniture and appliances along the wall. I would like a machine with the same dimensions as top-loaders, but designed to fit under a table top. It is not necessary to make the door transparent. How do manufacturers solve such problems? It’s unlikely that I’m the only one asking this question. Has no one thought of such a task?
Vyatka automatic va 160500. It has been working for 30 years. And at least that's it. I only changed the seals and bearings. I would buy a new one without hesitation.
So, gentlemen, Vyatka automatic 14 has been working for 15 years. The old owner had it for more than 10 years, manufactured in 1991 :) Honor and praise, it works flawlessly sometimes and up to three washes a day! The downside is electricity consumption. Low bow to the producers!
Where does this statement about the Russian assembly of Bosch come from? Evidence please!
The Ariston washing machine (made in Italy) has been working with us since 2007 :)
We have a Russian-assembled Bosch machine with protection against leaks... it leaked after 2 years of operation! The protection worked and shut off the water. I took it apart with God's help and saw that the water supply hose to the washing powder compartment had fallen off. During assembly, they forgot to put on the clamp, it was hanging loosely on the hose, and the clamp was not put on on the adjacent hose, which, fortunately, did not have time to fly off. I put everything on, drained the water while it was working, thank God!
Where can I sell my Vyatka automatic washing machine? It's been sitting idle for 10 years.
Try .
