Review of drying modes in the LG washing machine The LG brand produces several lines of washing and drying machines, and every year the models become more sophisticated. Modern “2-in-1” systems have several drying modes designed for different types of fabric. You can’t “poke” the buttons at random - you can over-dry or under-dry the laundry, or even completely ruin the item. To dry clothes to perfect condition, you need to know all the drying modes present in the LG washing machine. Let's look at each program in more detail.

Descriptions of drying programs

Modern LG machines offer several programs at once, not only for washing, but also for drying. Using preset drying modes, you can choose the optimal conditions for caring for your item, rather than experimenting with heating temperature and cycle duration. The main thing is to know which icon on the dashboard is responsible for drying, how it is configured and activated.

Most 2-in-1 machines have one drying program. Its designation is a schematic image of a T-shirt with three wavy lines in the lower right corner. The button is labeled simply “Drying” or in English “Dry”. To activate the function, just press the key, and then press “Start/Pause”. The degree of drying is adjusted by setting the timer:

30 minutes – “Normal” mode;
60 minutes – “Ironing”;
120 minutes – “Low temperature”.

At the end of drying, the code “Cd” will appear on the display, which will indicate the activation of the air conditioning system. In simple words, the machine will begin the final processing of items to reduce wrinkles and smooth out the fabric. All that remains is to press the start button and complete the cycle.If the user does not have time, the machine will extend the program for another 2-3.5 hours.

The LG washer-dryer dries clothes in 30-240 minutes, depending on the selected program.

Modern “2-in-1”, for example, LG F1496AD3, offer the user several drying programs. They are shown on the dashboard next to the programmer, highlighted with a pink line and turned on by turning the selector. As a rule, there are four of them:

“Standard” or “Cupboard Dry” (complete and fast drying for towels, shirts and linen made from cotton or linen);
“For ironing” or “Ironing” (here things remain slightly damp for subsequent ironing);
“Gentle” or “Low temperature” (designed for textiles, synthetics and delicate fabrics, as it implies safe and slow low-temperature drying);
“Eco drying” (can turn on drying lasting from 30 to 150 minutes; the time depends on the amount of laundry in the drum).

On washer-dryers, you can turn on a single cycle: immediately after the end of the wash, drying will start. But this option is only suitable for cotton and linen items, since a fast high-temperature drying program is automatically set.

The number and purpose of modes depends on the model of the LG washer-dryer - on some machines the list is supplemented with additional functions. To clarify the capabilities and power of the equipment, you must carefully study the instructions. The user manual contains a table of drying programs with explanations and recommendations.

Other drying machine programs

In addition to drying programs, LG combined appliances also have washing modes.Their number depends on the model of the machine, and the “arsenal” is often supplemented with unique functions such as steam treatment or double rinsing. As a rule, the user is offered at least 9-15 positions.

Cotton. Found on all LG models and designed for washing white and colored cotton items. The heating temperature is set from a minimum to 90 degrees, and the drum rotates sharply and in different directions - for better washing. Some machines offer improved modes: “Cotton max” and “Cotton +” with lower energy consumption, as well as “Cotton + steam” with steam treatment of items.
Sportswear. Recommended for gentle cleaning of membrane items and thermal underwear, for example, made from Coolmax, SympaTex, Core-tex and fleece. Thanks to the low temperature and gentle spin, the material is washed, maintaining its original shape and the ability of the fibers to “breathe”.
Mixed fabrics. Universal cycle for simultaneous washing of different types of fabric: sportswear, underwear, wool, dark items and down items. Lasts about 60-100 minutes, while water heating is limited to 40 degrees.
Hand wash/Wool. Selected for washing knitted and knitted clothes. Works with cold water and spin speed up to 600 rpm.
Wool. Separate mode for cleansing pure natural wool. The temperature is set to 20-40 degrees, and a special detergent is poured into the tray.
Delicate. Included for thin fabrics, blouses and underwear. Its main difference is minimal heating and spinning for more gentle care.
Synthetics. Optimal conditions for washing nylon, polyester and acrylic: 20-40 degrees, medium spin and 30-60 minutes.
Intensively 60. Designation – T-shirt with a stain.Lasts 60 minutes and goes away when heated to 60 degrees. It features economical energy consumption.
Quick 30. Allows you to complete the entire washing process in 30 minutes, including spinning and rinsing. Suitable for half-load drums and moderate soiling. Maximum heating – 40 degrees.
Fast 14. An accelerated cycle that lasts less than 15 minutes. Designed only for lightly soiled laundry and runs in cold water. For better rinsing, it is recommended to use no more than 20 g of detergent for every 2 kg of laundry. Found on F4M5TS6W.
Taking care of your health. Due to abundant rinsing and heating up to 60 degrees, it offers maximum removal of household chemicals from the fabric. Ideal for children's clothing, bedding and underwear.
Hygiene. Found on F4M5TS6W machines and is a wash cycle in hot water – at 60 degrees. Due to the high temperature, the laundry is disinfected, cleansing it of germs and allergens.
Duvet blanked. Large bulky items are washed here: pillows, bedspreads and other bedding. Temperature – up to 40 degrees, spin – minimal, time – about 120 minutes.
Quiet. A convenient program for F4M5TS6W users that involves night cleaning. The engine does not operate at full strength, which is why the drum rotates smoothly, and the washing machine does not vibrate or make noise.
Hypoallergenic. It is turned on when necessary to remove allergens from the fibers: wool, pollen and mites. After starting, the machine warms up to 60 degrees and “evaporates” things for 100-120 minutes.
Dark fabrics. A rare program designed to preserve black pigment. Works at low temperatures and minimal spin. Available on model F4M5TS6W.
Baby's clothes.Designed for high-quality washing of clothes of babies and children. Involves heating water to at least 60 degrees, abundant rinsing and maximum spin. Found on almost all LG models.
Casual. Ideal program for washing shirts made of polyester, polyamide and acrylic. The default temperature is set to 40, but can be varied from 20 to 60.
Removing stains. A special mode for removing strong organic contaminants - juice, grass, wine, lipstick. The temperature gradually increases from 20 to 40 degrees, which allows you to remove different types of stains. Only for items made from fabrics containing cotton.
Refresh. Present on models with a steam generator, for example, on the F4M5TS6W. Lasts 20 minutes, during which the hot air will smooth the fabric, eliminate unpleasant odors and remove stubborn stains.

Combination washing machines from LG must have separate rinse, spin and drain modes. Some models, for example, F4M5TS6W, offer a “My Program” button. This function involves storing in the machine’s memory user settings entered manually or downloaded via the Internet.
