Electrolux dishwasher programs
Most modern dishwashers have a relatively small range of washing programs. However, the modes of the Electrolux dishwasher are selected in such a way that housewives can wash dishes of any type and varying degrees of contamination. Let's look at what operating modes exist in Electrolux "home assistants".
A set of basic PMM Electrolux algorithms
The company's engineers did not “reinvent the wheel”, focusing on standard programs that can be found in any other PMM. These functions are enough for home use of household appliances, so most often you can find this basic set in Electrolux dishwashers.
- Automatic washing mode, which itself determines the level of contamination and the amount of dishes loaded into the chamber. Based on the data received, the machine selects the temperature and amount of water, energy consumption, as well as the required time to clean the utensils. Includes pre-washing, running in water at 45 or 70 degrees Celsius, rinsing and drying. You can wash both regular dishes and cutlery, as well as pots and pans. Washing takes from 70 to 130 minutes, uses from 0.7 to 1.3 kWh and from 8 to 16 liters of water. The image of the mode is easy to find - it is written in three lines “45O», «70O" and "AUTO".
- Mode for heavy soiling, suitable for any dishes, including pots and pans. Includes pre-wash, hot water at 70 degrees Celsius, rinsing and drying. A full cycle takes 120-130 minutes, uses 1.1-1.2 kWh and 12-13 liters of water. The pictogram looks like a saucepan being dipped into water.
- Fast mode for fresh soiling. The program is only suitable for dishes and cutlery that will be washed in water at 60 degrees and then rinsed. The cycle takes only 30 minutes, consumes 0.8 kWh and 8 liters of water. The image looks like a clock face with the number 30.
- Eco-friendly mode for common stains, allowing you to wash dishes and cutlery. Includes pre-cleaning of dishes and washing in water at 50 degrees, rinsing and drying. This is the longest mode - 160-170 minutes, but also the most economical, taking into account the energy consumption of 0.7-0.8 kWh and the use of 8-9 liters of water. The pictogram looks like a leaf with the signature “ECO”.
Typically, this is the program that testing companies use when determining the level of energy consumption of equipment, as well as the level of water use.
- Finally, the rinse mode is necessary for easily cleaning dishes from food residues. This program does not include a wash and therefore does not require the use of detergents. Lasts only 12 minutes, consumes 0.01 kWh and only 3 liters of water. The picture looks like streams of water falling onto a plate.
Thus, the PMM makes it possible to select an operating mode for each specific situation. You can either wash away serious stains or simply rinse the dishes with water after eating so that no unpleasant odors remain on them. And the automatic smart mode will also be able to determine how much water is needed, what temperature, and how long it will take for an ideal result.
Functions of modern Electrolux PMMs
In addition to standard programs for dishes, Electrolux dishwashers boast a wide list of additional functions that will be useful to housewives in different situations. Let's list the most popular and important ones.
- Half load of dishes. To prevent the huge machine from wasting its resources, you can activate a mode in which the equipment will work exclusively with the main basket. Typically, the manufacturer creates machines with two large baskets, under each of which a sprinkler is installed. But if you select the half-load mode and place the dishes in the main basket, the second sprinkler simply will not work. This function allows PMM to spend almost half as much electricity, water and detergent.
- Forced drying. If you use this option, an additional heating element will be activated, as well as a small exhaust fan, which will increase the speed of circulation of air masses inside the machine, due to which the dishes will dry much faster.
This mode increases the cost of household appliances, so if you don’t plan to overpay for comfort, you can simply open the door of the “home assistant” after work so that the dishes are ventilated and thus dry faster.
- Self-cleaning function. Any equipment needs to be cleaned with your own hands from time to time so that it does not become clogged and lasts longer. However, some Electrolux PMM models have a self-cleaning function, to activate which you only need to add detergent, always without rinse aid, and activate the mode. With this program, the machine will quickly heat the water to maximum, drain it and repeat the procedure again, which helps get rid of small and medium-sized stains.
- Thermal disinfection. This option is similar to the previous one, but it is aimed at cleaning dishes. It activates when the dishwasher is loaded with dirty dishes and you want to kill about 90% of the bacteria on those dishes. The function heats the water to high temperatures several times during the operating cycle, therefore eliminating not only dirt, but also harmful bacteria. The regime is a salvation for families with small children, as well as people who want to take maximum care of their health.
- Machine operation indicator. It looks like a beam moving a colored dot across the floor, displaying the washing stage that the equipment is currently going through. In expensive versions of the devices, information is digitally projected onto the floor so that housewives can always see how much time the equipment has left to work.
- Reloading dishes. This option exists in case you have already launched the program, and then suddenly remembered that you need to add a few more items. The function allows you to pause work to safely add dishes, but only if the work has recently been started, since there is no point in adding dirty dishes at the very end of the work cycle.
Under no circumstances should you open the PMM door to add forgotten dishes if you do not have a reloading function - water and foam may pour out of the machine and flood the floor.
As you can see, modern technology can offer a number of smart solutions that will be useful in a variety of life situations. The only question is whether you are willing to pay a higher price for a larger set of additional features.
