Soak mode in the washing machine
Despite the availability of high-quality modern washing equipment, many still soak clothes in a basin with their own hands, risking damage to the item and ignoring automatic washing. It’s one thing when there is simply no other choice, and quite another when the soaking mode in the washing machine is present. This useful feature saves the housewife time and effort, allowing you to effectively remove even the most difficult old stains. Let's figure out exactly how this option works in order to use it correctly.
How does this program work?
This program has existed for more than 20 years, so it has long managed to become one of the most beloved and in demand among users. Starting it in a Samsung washing machine is extremely simple - you need to select the soaking program using a separate key or sector of the program selector on the “home assistant” dashboard and activate the operation. The main stages of this work cycle look quite familiar.
- First, the clothes are treated with a mixture of water and powder. The housewife loads dirty clothes into the drum, adds detergent and starts the cycle. The machine will draw water and at the same time take the powder from the pre-wash tray. Then the drum will begin to make slow revolutions in different directions so that the cleaning solution penetrates better into the fabric.
If you are running a pre-wash, do not add liquid detergents to the main wash tray, as they may leak out during the pre-processing stage of the clothes.
- The second stage is a mini-wash, during which a little more liquid will enter the drum, and then the drum will slowly rotate again so that household chemicals dissolve even better in the water and begin to penetrate into things more actively.
- The third step is the soaking itself - dirty items end up in bubbles of dissolved detergent, which is why the foam effectively penetrates the fibers of the fabric and effectively removes dirt from the laundry. At this stage the drum is stationary.
- The end of the prewash will be to re-rotate the drum to give the foam access to the surface of all items.
It is useful that the duration of soaking can be controlled manually, setting a short period for lightly soiled items and a long time for the dirtiest clothes. Basically, standard soaking lasts 30-40 minutes - this is exactly the time that is enough for high-quality pre-treatment of things. The most important thing is not to forget to load household chemicals into two compartments of the detergent dispenser at once, because after soaking, the machine can immediately begin the main wash, rinse and spin, if the user has set such settings.
Subsequent main program
It is soaking that allows you to soften stains and dirt, so that they can then be easier to remove during washing. However, pre-treatment is not able to remove dirt completely, so after it it is always worth running one of the main wash modes. The choice of program depends solely on what fabric, type and color of clothing needs to be cleaned. Based on these factors, the user should select one of the following programs in the Samsung washing machine.
- Cotton, almost universal mode, suitable for most work cycles.Ideally washes white and colored cotton clothes at temperatures up to 95 degrees Celsius, taking up to 180 minutes.
- Synthetics - the same, only for clothes made of synthetic materials, the duration is 120 minutes, and the temperature is 60 degrees. It is distinguished by its high-speed spin.
- The delicate mode is suitable for the most delicate fabrics that can be accidentally damaged during standard washing cycles. This gentle program cleans clothes at a temperature of 30-40 degrees Celsius, and also uses the weakest spin cycle to avoid deforming the materials.
- The manual cycle is practically indistinguishable from the delicate mode, because it also takes place at 40 degrees, and then very carefully wrings things out.
- Wool - like the first two modes on the list, is intended for clothing made from specific materials. This cycle lasts only 50 minutes, during which the machine carefully and smoothly washes things in water heated to 30 degrees.
- Baby mode is intended for baby clothes, for example, diapers and baby vests. It has a high temperature of up to 80 degrees Celsius, which is necessary in order to completely destroy all harmful bacteria, as well as prevent powder or other household chemicals from coming into contact with children’s skin, which may not have been washed out of clothes during the normal operating cycle.
The children's mode is also suitable for allergy sufferers who do not tolerate a number of household chemicals well.
- Quick wash – this mode is designed for people who don’t have time to do laundry, so they need to clean lightly soiled items as quickly as possible. The operating time in cold water ranges from 15 to 29 minutes, which is the fastest result among all other programs.
- Daily mode is a special operating cycle suitable for everyday items such as underwear, pajamas and dressing gowns. Helps to wash things efficiently and prevent them from wearing out quickly.
- The intensive eco cycle is also a fast mode, but with a better degree of cleaning of clothes, which is achieved using a special technology in which the liquid in the drum remains cold, the duration is short, but the quality of washing does not decrease at all.
- Outerwear – this option is necessary for clothing made from moisture-repellent components. Washing is carried out using increased foaming, due to which the clothes are cleaned of dirt and do not lose their protective properties.
- Spin is a standard stage of the work cycle, lasts only 4-5 minutes and allows you to thoroughly squeeze out items after washing.
- Draining - necessarily occurs after each working cycle in order to drain the waste liquid into the sewer, but can also be activated additionally if you urgently need to get rid of the water in the drum.
- Rinse + spin – this cycle is needed in a situation where, after the first rinse, soap stains or a strong smell of detergent remain on the clothes. The operating time is about 20 minutes.
- Self-cleaning of the drum is a useful feature that makes keeping track of your “home assistant” much easier and more enjoyable. The mode automatically cleans the drum of mold and germs, lasts 90 minutes and heats the water to 70 degrees Celsius.
This way the user always has a wide choice of programs after the automatic soaking has finished. This pre-wash mode should not be ignored, because it is much more effective and safer than regular soaking in a basin.
