“Easy ironing” function in the washing machine
Technologies do not stand still; over time, manufacturers came up with both washing machines with a drying option and washing machines with an ironing option. Is technology really already capable of doing all the work for the housewife? Before “plunging headlong into the pool” and buying expensive units, it’s worth finding out how the “Easy Ironing” mode works in the washing machine.
Is Easy Iron really a replacement for an iron?
In fact, ironing is not always just a way to get rid of wrinkles that appear as a result of active washing and powerful spinning. Children's clothes, diapers and underwear are ironed with a very hot iron not to give an aesthetic appearance, but for hygienic purposes. Therefore, to answer the question whether the ironing mode replaces the iron, you need to understand how this option works.
Without further ado, we can say that this function does not correspond to ironing and cannot replace it. A loud name acts as a marketing tool and is designed to expand the consumer audience. The essence of the program is that when washed in such a unit, laundry wrinkles less than usual, and if the fabric itself is not very wrinkled, then after that a light ironing with an iron will be enough, that’s all.
Features of this algorithm
If, after ironing in the washing machine, you still have to process the laundry with a regular iron, then what is the use of this function? In fact, the unit will simply reduce the spin speed, set the washing cycle to a delicate cycle, and use more water to reduce the formation of wrinkles in the laundry. The result is less wrinkled and more damp laundry that can be easily reshaped without steaming, so ironing costs are minimal.
But even in this situation, the question arises: is there a need to spend the money that is asked for it on a unit with an ironing option? After all, you can just as successfully select delicate programs in your washing machine and run the spin cycle at minimum speed manually before rinsing, so that you get wet laundry at the end. It is necessary to take a closer look at the advantages and disadvantages of SMA with the ironing option.
Advantages and disadvantages of the algorithm
Perhaps the only major advantage of the ironing program is that even if you still have to iron your clothes by hand after washing, the energy costs for this process are reduced because the laundry is less wrinkled.
Important! In addition, strong mechanical stress and high temperatures negatively affect any fabric, so the less it is “tormented” by the machine and iron, the better this affects its appearance.
There are many more disadvantages:
- sometimes after the program the laundry remains not just damp, but wet;
- washing time increases;
- savings on electricity are offset by high water consumption;
- rinsing at low speeds may not wash powder out of fabrics well;
- This option can only be used when the drum is half loaded.
Accordingly, what exactly is “Easy Ironing”? Regularly using this function, you will have to dry your laundry, run the wash many times more often and pay more for water and electricity too (after all, the washing machine runs on electricity).However, everyone decides for themselves how to use the mode and whether such a SM is of any real use.
