Disassembling the Miele washing machine

In the event of a breakdown, the washing machine will have to be partially or completely disassembled to get to the faulty elements. For beginners, this task will not be easy - it is not always clear how to approach the machine. Especially when repairing Miele equipment that has some design features. To disassemble a Miele washing machine, you need to prepare tools and follow the instructions. Let's see what algorithm we are talking about.

What tool is needed?

There is no need to start disassembling the washing machine right away. First, you should prepare for the upcoming manipulations: disconnect the equipment from communications, unhook the inlet and drain hoses from the body. Then we move the machine closer to the center of the room to provide free access to all walls. Be sure to put a few old rags next to the Miele - they will protect against possible dirt and water. The second step is to collect the tools:

• screwdrivers (slotted and Phillips);
• set of wrenches;
• pliers;
• screwdriver;
• set of heads;
• hammer (mallet);
• a puller, drift or chisel if you plan to dismantle the bearings.

Before disassembling, the Miele washing machine must be disconnected from communications - light, water and sewerage.

Only after preparing the workplace, machine and tools can you begin disassembly. This procedure is long and labor-intensive, so you need to be patient and time-consuming. Ideally, you should carefully study the Miele factory instructions and electrical diagram before starting work.

Opening the front wall

Even the tank with the drum can be pulled out and repaired through the front wall, which greatly simplifies the dismantling procedure. It remains to figure out in what sequence to act.

If on machines of many other brands Samsung, Indesit, Bosch, disassembly begins in the “classic” way, with unscrewing the back panel, then with Miele everything is different. Here everything is tied at the end, which completely changes the order of actions. The dismantling instructions are as follows:

• take out the powder receptacle (pull it towards you, pressing the red button provided in the depth);
• we unscrew the bolts that were “hidden” behind the tray;
• use a flat screwdriver to pry up the technical hatch door and open it (for Miele it is located at the bottom left);
• We find the emergency drain hose behind the door and unhook it from the body;
• on the right side behind the technical door we feel for the ring and activate it (the machine hatch should open);
• using a 10mm head, remove the three fasteners located on the body along the perimeter of the hatch;
• we put the bolts removed from the hatch in a safe place so as not to lose them (these screws are made of special materials, so they do not deteriorate in an aggressive environment);
• pull the end towards you on the left side - the front wall should open freely.

All! The front panel removed in this way will provide free access to all elements of the Miele washing machine. If you need to test wiring and electronics, you should pay attention to the right side of the case. To dismantle the heating element or motor, just look under the tank, and the pump, garbage filter and drain system are located in the lower left corner. The hatch locking device is located in the “standard” place - on the left side near the drum.

Miele washing machines are disassembled in a non-standard sequence: first, the front wall of the case is removed, and then the remaining structural elements.

It is possible that a particular Miele model provides a different disassembly option. In any case, it is necessary to study the factory instructions before the procedure and only then get down to business. If you have doubts or strongly stuck parts, independent dismantling is not advisable - it is better to seek professional help from a service center.

It’s even easier to disassemble a Miele front washing machine with your own hands than washing machines from other brands. It is enough just to free the front wall of the case from the fasteners and open it like a door, gaining free access to all components and mechanisms.
