No matter how expensive and sophisticated a dishwasher is, any model can at one point start leaking water from under the door. There is nothing terrible or fatal in this, so you should not immediately call a technician for repairs or go to the store for a new machine. Very often, the cause of the malfunction can be eliminated with your own hands at home. We'll tell you why your dishwasher leaks from the bottom of the door, and how you can fix it yourself.

List of possible problems

First of all, it is important to disconnect the dishwasher from the power supply, and only after that proceed with inspection. We also note that you should not immediately try to repair the problem if a leak is discovered after the first operating cycle. In this case, it is better to take the device back to the store, because, most likely, the breakdown is caused by a manufacturing defect. However, if the problem suddenly appears after a long period of operation, then the cause will have to be looked for.

• Machine misalignment. The equipment should only stand on a flat and solid surface, so the problem can be easily resolved by rearranging or leveling the area under the device;
• Bottom sprayer defective. A crack could have formed in it, due to which a stream of water hits the door and then flows down from below. In such a situation, replacement of the part is necessary;

• Damage to the door seal. In this case, only purchasing a new seal to replace the deformed one will help;

We fix the dishwasher

If the dishwasher is leaking, then first of all you should find the cause of the problem in order to choose a solution. So, for example, if the rubber door seal is deformed, then you just need to buy a new one and replace it with your own hands. You don’t need a repairman for such basic repairs, so you definitely shouldn’t call him right away.

Be sure to buy the original door rubber so that it fits specifically to your dishwasher model.

Before doing any repairs yourself, make sure that the dishwasher is on a level surface. Remove the deformed seal from the door. When installing the new rubber, start with the fasteners and work your way to the ends of the seal. Do not stretch the rubber band, otherwise water may start flowing from the bottom of the door again.

Now it's time to look at the pressure switch. The level sensor may break due to damage to the elements, natural wear or oxidation of the connecting contacts. In order not to make a mistake with the part, purchase only branded elements specifically for your dishwasher. The pressure switches for different machines are different, so approach the replacement with all responsibility. What to do when the part is purchased?

1. Disconnect equipment from the network and water supply.
2. Remove the back cover.
3. Under the water sensor, disconnect the connecting hose.
4. Disconnect the pressure switch itself and remove it from the machine.
5. Install the new part according to these instructions in reverse order.

Once you have made the replacement, be sure to run a test cycle to ensure that the problem has been resolved. If everything is done correctly, the water will stop flowing, and its level inside the device will be optimal.

You should never ignore even the slightest defect in the operation of your dishwasher. If diagnostics are carried out in time, the device can be saved from complex repairs or even replacement. Most minor breakdowns can be easily fixed on your own, so always keep a close eye on your home helper.
