First launch of Beko dishwasher
It's surprising, but using your Beko dishwasher for the first time can often cause damage to your expensive appliance. The fact is that the first activation must always be carried out under special conditions, so if you ignore them, you can harm not only the dishes, but also the dishwasher itself. To prevent this from happening to you, read our instructions on how to launch a Beko device for the first time.
Why is the first activation taken seriously?
Impatience and joy from the purchase are two factors that usually prevent new users from launching the PMM correctly for the first time. The most important thing in the first launch is the absence of dishes and the correct loading of household chemicals. What will such a first inclusion give?
- The test cycle will allow you to clean the machine from oil, dust and dirt that may have remained during assembly at the factory, storage in a warehouse or sale in a store, where sellers and buyers could touch the equipment with dirty and greasy hands;
- Also, a dry wash will provide an opportunity to evaluate the performance of the device. Is water collected and heated normally, how quickly does it drain into the sewer, how well does the heating element heat the water, is there any water left after washing;
- Finally, this is an opportunity to check the connection to all communications and make sure that nothing is leaking and that the machine is installed correctly.
Thus, the test will answer several important questions at once. Once we manage to answer them, it will be possible to build PMM into furniture. If during the inspection you find a leak, it can be fixed in a timely manner without any problems. And if a problem is discovered in the device itself, then there will be no problem in quickly taking it back to the store to exchange it or request warranty repairs.
We are preparing for the first launch of PMM Beko
Do not rush to start the washer, first make sure that there is no packaging material, stickers or any other debris left in the wash chamber, such as foam balls. In addition to debris, you can also remove other contaminants with a cloth, such as dust and dirt.
Despite the fact that the first switching on is done without dirty dishes, this does not mean that you can save on household chemicals. All three types of chemicals must be loaded into the machine: detergent, rinse aid and softening salt. Detergents can be in the form of gel, powder, tablets and capsules. All of them are needed in order to remove any kind of dirt from dishes. Rinse aid helps complete the washing process and gives dishes a crystal shine.
As for salt granules, they are worth dwelling on separately. Salt in the dishwasher is needed to restore the resin in the ion exchanger, a special unit that softens hard tap water. How to fill the salt bin for the first time?
- Find the salt reservoir at the bottom of the washing chamber and unscrew its lid.
- Pour about a liter of water inside.
- Add about a kilogram of salt.
Never use regular table salt, as it is much finer than specialized technical salt, plus it does not undergo such thorough cleaning, so it runs out faster and is not able to effectively regenerate the softening functions of the ion exchanger.
- Close the lid tightly.
- Set the salt consumption according to the hardness of the tap water.
It is possible to find out the level of water hardness at home with special test strips for determining water quality, which often come complete with PMM. If you didn’t have them, you can purchase them at any hardware store, or study the information on the website of the local water utility, which should publish current data on tap water every month.
If you wish, you can also buy special detergents specifically for the first launch of the PMM, which clean the insides of the machine even more effectively, but you can do without this, limiting yourself to standard household dishwasher chemicals. After loading the detergents, do not forget to level the machine, and also check whether anything inside the chamber is interfering with the movement of the spray arms.
Activating PMM Beko without dishes
Now all that remains is the long-awaited inclusion. If the machine is installed level, chemicals have been added, then you only need to open the water valve with water drainage to the Beko dishwasher and turn on the device.
- Open the PMM door and press the power button.
- Set the salt consumption and select the type of detergent to use, if you have not already done so.
- Turn the rinse aid consumption down to the minimum for idle washing so as not to waste chemicals.
- Select the appropriate washing program. The longest setting, using the hottest water, works best for the dough. Most often this is an intensive mode.
- Close the door to start the washer.
It is not necessary to stand near the machine for two and a half hours and watch how it works - it is enough just to check from time to time whether it collects and heats water well, whether it drains waste liquid into the sewer normally, and whether the PMM does not stop during operation.After the working cycle, inspect the washing chamber to see if there is any water left inside after drying. If everything is in order, then let the device cool and dry with the door open for several hours, and then you can begin actively using the “home assistant”.
