First launch of Ariston dishwasher
Having connected the new dishwasher to communications, users can’t wait to try out the “home assistant” in action. However, there is no need to rush. The first start of the Ariston dishwasher must be carried out according to certain rules - without dishes in the chamber, but with detergent. Let's figure out what the features of the test cycle are.
Why “run” PMM Ariston without dishes?
The instructions for the PMM say that the first start of the device should be idle, that is, without dishes in the hopper. What is this for? During the test cycle, the dishwasher is washed from the inside to remove factory dirt. Grease and dust remain on the internal parts of the unit. All of this needs to be rinsed off before you put your cutlery in the dishwasher.
A test run will help ensure that the dishwasher is working properly.
In a store environment, it is impossible to fully test the device for functionality. There the machine is not connected to water and sewerage. The manager shows that the PMM starts, responds to pressing the instrument buttons, and that’s all. The dishwasher may also be damaged during transportation.
During the test run, the user will have the opportunity to make sure that the machine is correctly connected to the communications, does not leak, heats the water, and drains the waste liquid from the chamber. During the idle cycle, you can figure out how to control the dishwasher and select the desired mode. It is worth remembering that before switching on the PMM for the first time, you need to download special tools; we will tell you which ones.
We add all funds to PMM Ariston
Before starting the Ariston dishwasher for the first time, you need to buy special household chemicals.The products are loaded into the device immediately before the test cycle. You will need to purchase:
- regenerating salt;
- dishwashing detergent;
- rinse aid for cutlery.
All products must be designed specifically for dishwashers.
Detergent is necessary to clean dishes. The components it contains help to cope with grease, carbon deposits and other contaminants. Compositions can be found on sale in three forms:
- liquid (gels, dish balms);
- powder;
- tableted.
It's up to you to decide which form of remedy to choose. The tablets are convenient to dose; the capsule is designed for one cycle. However, with a half load, dividing it will be problematic.
Powders are cheaper than tablets, but open packaging is not as convenient to store. The dosage of granules can be easily adjusted depending on the completeness of the dishwasher load. The same goes for dishwashing gels in PMM. The detergent dispenser is located on the machine door.
Rinse aid prevents streaks from appearing on dishes. Thus, glass and crystal products will shine after washing. In addition, when using it, cutlery dries faster. The liquid is poured into a separate compartment, which is located next to the detergent dispenser.
Salt crystals soften hard tap water. They restore the resin in the PMM ion exchanger. Regenerating salt prevents the formation of scale and limescale on the internal parts of the dishwasher. The granules are loaded into a special tank at the bottom of the washing chamber.
Some users, wanting to save money, replace regenerating salt with table salt. You shouldn't do that. Despite the obvious similarity, these two compositions have significant differences:
- the degree of purification of table salt is much lower;
- ordinary salt contains microelements that are detrimental to PMM parts;
- the special regenerating salt is larger, so it dissolves slowly, as it should.
Salt for PMM is inexpensive. Therefore, in this case it is better not to save. To put salt crystals in the dishwasher, you need:
- open the dishwasher, remove the lower basket from it;
- unscrew the lid of the salt reservoir (the compartment is located at the bottom of the washing chamber);
- pour 1 liter of cold water into a container;
- load salt into the container (approximately 800-1000 grams, depending on the PMM Ariston model);
- Wipe any salt water that has leaked out of the tank from the bottom of the washing chamber.
Water is poured into the salt compartment only before turning on the machine for the first time. Next, you just need to pour crystals into the tank. A special indicator on the control panel informs you that the compartment is full - when there are few granules left, it lights up.
Next you need to configure the PMM Ariston softener. How to do this is stated in the instructions for the equipment. The adjustment is made depending on the hardness of the tap water in the locality where the dishwasher is used. You can find out the indicator by using special test strips, or by calling your local Vodokanal.
"Idle" cycle
After loading all the products into the machine, you can start the dishwasher for the first time. Check that the PMM is level and that the inlet and drain hoses are not kinked or crushed. Make sure that the shut-off valve for the water supply to the “home assistant” is open.
The first switching on of the machine occurs as follows:
- open the door and check that the sprayer moves freely by turning it by hand;
- remove the dishwasher garbage filter, wash it and put it back in place;
- plug the PMM power cord into the socket;
- press the “On” button;
- select the washing program (it is recommended to run the longest mode, with water heating at least 60 degrees);
- close the machine door and start the cycle.
While the dishwasher is operating in test mode, it is important for the user to check that:
- water flows into the chamber without interruption;
- PMM does not stop its work;
- the dishwasher does not leak;
- The heating element heats the water to the set temperature;
- the liquid does not linger in the washing chamber, but circulates in the system;
- At the end of the cycle, there is no water left inside the machine.
If during a test run some kind of malfunction occurs, you need to turn off the machine and fix the problem. If a significant problem is detected, you should send the dishwasher to a service center for diagnostics.
When the first start goes well, it is enough to dry the machine for an hour, and then start a full wash. Load the kitchen utensils into the baskets, add detergent and start the cycle. The program is selected depending on the type of dishes and the degree of soiling.
