How to turn off the spin cycle in a washing machine?
When washing some types of fabrics, it is advisable to turn off the spin mode in the washing machine. It is necessary to follow the recommendations of the clothing manufacturer, otherwise it is easy to damage the delicate material. If there is an icon on the label that prohibits spinning or twisting, simply disable this function in the machine.
Shutdown algorithm
Removing the spin cycle in the washing machine is quite simple. However, before doing this, it is better to take the instructions for your household appliances and strictly follow the manufacturer's instructions. If the book is lost, you will have to figure it out yourself.
The spin speed is controlled by the “Spin” button (usually a spiral icon).
To refuse this action, you must:
- select the desired washing program;
- find the button labeled “Spin”;
- click on it and at the same time look at the display - which icons will change;
- wait until the spin prohibition symbol (crossed out icon) appears on the screen;
- load the laundry in the usual way, pour in the powder and press the start button.
Please note that not all modes in the washing machine allow you to remove the spin cycle completely. If you come across just such a program, just set the speed to minimum. Or select an alternative wash cycle option that allows you to skip the spin cycle. Be sure to select the appropriate program for the possible washing temperature, exposure time, etc., so as not to damage the clothes.
What's the use of this?
The ability to remove the spin cycle when washing allows you to follow the clothing manufacturer's recommendations. This will help maintain the appearance of the item and not spoil the fabric, especially when it requires careful handling. Many materials do not tolerate intense mechanical stress.
These include silk, wool, viscose, faux fur, membrane sportswear fabrics, wardrobe items with elements of complex decor. Sewn decorations can simply come off at high spin speeds, and delicate lace can tear. Thin curtain fabrics such as organza, voile, etc. should not be wrung out in the machine.
Also, turning off the spin cycle allows you to extend the life of the washing machine. The fact is that if you avoid intense exposure, the drum and associated parts do not experience high loads, which means they will last longer. At low speeds or completely eliminating the spin cycle, the negative impact is minimized.
Washing without spinning is faster than the standard program. On average, washing machines spend up to 15 minutes on this action, which is not so little if you are in a hurry. Considering that the washing process usually takes about an hour, this is a good indicator of savings.
In addition, without active spinning, the washing machine will operate almost silently. If you set the delayed start, for example, at night, avoiding high speeds will help you sleep, and in the morning you will get clean clothes out of the drum. If you have a two-phase meter, you can also save on electricity with night washing.
