You need to know which heater model is installed in the machine. Sometimes information about a part is written down in the factory instructions, but it is better to dismantle the part and examine the markings applied to its surface. Another option is to take the faulty item with you to the store and ask the seller to select a replacement based on the sample.
The main thing is that the new heating element matches the old one in power and dimensions. As a rule, Daewoo washing machines are equipped with heating elements of 1900-2000 W, depending on the volume of the drum. The diameter of the sensor on the part is 1 cm, and the length before bending is 18.5 cm.

Code H6 on the display means that the washing machine has stopped heating water. It’s easy to guess the problem: when you start the high-temperature cycle, the machine washes in cold water. Several problems can lead to a lack of heating at once: from breakdown of the heater itself, to failure of the thermistor or control board. As a rule, the heating element fails more often.
The heating element is considered one of the most vulnerable components of any washing machine. It can break for several reasons:
sudden surges in voltage in the electrical network;
malfunction of the thermistor;
“glitch” on the control board;
too dirty and hard tap water;
damage to the cuff of the heating element (water passes through the seal and closes the contacts);
careless operation of the machine (activation of several high-temperature cycles in a row);
manufacturing defects.
The reasons for the failure of the heating element are scale from hard water, user error, manufacturing defects, sudden voltage drops, malfunction of the thermistor or control board.
Rarely, it is not the heating element that is to blame for error H6, but the control module.The system freezes or loses communication with the heater, which is why the latter does not receive the heating command. In such a situation, diagnostics and flashing of the board are required, which can only be handled by a service specialist.
To repair the washer, you must first inspect the heating element. On the vast majority of Daewoo models it is located below the washing tub. We proceed like this:
disconnect the machine from communications;
we turn the equipment “backward” forward;
unscrew the back panel from the case;
tighten the drive belt;
look under the tank.
It is easy to recognize heating elements. The element is located strictly in the center of the drum, and its rounded rectangular chip is “rich” with connected wires. It's hard not to notice the heater - it catches your eye immediately after removing the back panel.
How to change an element?
It’s easy to check and change the heating element yourself. The main thing is to know in advance what to do and in what order. So, the first thing you need to do is make sure once again that the washing machine is de-energized and cut off from the water supply. The second is to drain the residual water from the drum.
If error H6 occurs, the tank is emptied through the garbage filter. Use a screwdriver to open the technical hatch door in the lower right part of the housing and unscrew the nozzle, placing a container under it to collect water. Then we return to the heating element and begin its diagnostics:
disconnect the wiring connected to the chip;
turn the multimeter into ohmmeter mode;
apply the probes to the heater contacts;
We evaluate the result (a working element produces a value in the range of 20-30 Ohms).
If the resistance is not normal, then the part cannot be repaired. The situation can only be corrected by replacing the heating element with a working analogue. But first, let’s dismantle the old one:
loosen the central nut;
press the rod inward;
pry up the base with a screwdriver;
pull out the heating element from its seat;

When dismantling the heating element, be careful with the rubber seal: do not damage it - this will lead to leakage!
Then we move on to installing a new heater. We clean the “socket”, generously treat the part with lubricant and fix it in the grooves with a nut. Then we connect the wires to the chip, put the Daewoo washing machine back together and start the high-temperature cycle. If the error disappears and the water warms up after 15-20 minutes, then everything was done correctly.
