Error EF0 in AEG washing machine

Error EF0 in AEG washing machineHaving seen the EF0 error on the display in the AEG washing machine, the owners begin to deal with the problem in their own way. One takes on diagnosing the float sensor, another immediately changes the power filter, and the third flashes the control board and finally breaks the washing machine. In order not to experiment and not take risks automatically, it is better to find out in advance that this code is general and requires clarification by running a self-diagnosis cycle. How to enable a test wash and what will it lead to?

How to enter service mode?

Repairing a washing machine is a troublesome task, so before starting work, you should honestly answer whether you can cope with possible problems and whether the game is worth the trouble. If the risks are not justified or there are doubts, it is better not to tempt fate, but to call a professional from the service center. Especially if the machine is still under warranty.

Error EF0 is a general one, and to clarify the cause of the failure, it is necessary to run the self-diagnosis system.

Confident and experienced owners can try to solve the problem with the EF0 error themselves. Moreover, modern machines have a smart self-diagnosis system, which signals breakdowns through special combinations. To correctly read the “message” from the washing machine, you will first have to erase the displayed code, and then run a test wash.

  1. We check that the machine is not washing, but do not turn off the machine from the power supply.
  2. Press and hold the “Start/Pause” keys and the “Delayed Start” button located next to it.
  3. Simultaneously with pressing the keys, we switch the programmer to the first position. If the lights on the dashboard blink, then the first stage has been completed successfully.
  4. Release the keys and move the gear selector forward clockwise. In this position, the washing machine will “think” and begin testing the system for possible failures.
  5. Move the switch to position 10 with the inscription “Lingerie”. The system should show error EF0 again.enter the service test

Now you need to simultaneously press the “Start/Pause” and “Delayed Start” keys again to reset the error from the device’s memory. If after 2-4 seconds the machine displays the combination E00, then the task is completed and the system is updated. All that remains is to turn off the machine from the power supply, wait a couple of minutes and start it again. As soon as “ELE” lights up on the screen, the unit will try to correct the situation and begin the test cycle.

Why did we do this?

As soon as the washing machine begins self-diagnosis, you need to be nearby and monitor the machine’s display. The system will tell you what to do next by displaying a new code or making characteristic sounds. It is better to immediately write down the combination that appears on a piece of paper or take a photograph, since with a 95% probability the updated error will specify the problem.

Knowing the final code, you can easily identify the cause of the failure. You just need to correctly decipher the system signal:

  • C1, E10 or single beep – problems with water intake;
  • C2, E20 or 2 signals - you will have to remove the blockage in the drain system;
  • C3, F3, EF3 or triple squeak – the Aquastop system has activated;
  • C2, E40, 4 signals – UBL;
  • C9, E50, 9 signals – engine malfunction, imbalance;
  • Eb0, EH0, squeak repeats 11 times – problems with electronics;
  • EF1, EF2, 15 signals – pump clogged or increased foaming;
  • SE – problems with the dispensary;
  • CF or T90 – control board passed;
  • E80, 8 – the programmer is faulty (you need to “set” it to zero).

The test cycle does not threaten the warranty; you just need to report the test.

Once the problem is identified, you can repair the machine yourself. The main thing is to act according to the instructions, and if in doubt, contact a professional.
