Error E27 for a Bosch dishwasher
Any household appliance can work unstably, and it is quite difficult to understand why this happens. In electronically controlled dishwashers, the manufacturer took this into account and built special fault codes into them. In this article we will talk about how to decipher one of these codes, namely the E27 code in a Bosch dishwasher.
Error interpretation
In the instructions for different models of Bosch dishwashers, this error is described as insufficient voltage in the network. This means that if the mains voltage drops below 220 V, the machine stops working and error E27 appears. Most often, the error occurs in the evening, when the network load is maximum. This is why some dishwasher users use the delayed start function. By loading the machine in the evening and choosing to start after three hours, the machine automatically turns on at night, and in the morning you can get clean dishes.
You can try and write a complaint to GOS ENERGO SUPERVISION about power outages in the network, which should sort out the substation that supplies your home. But this may not help, and while they are considering the complaint and making a decision, some device may burn out due to a voltage drop.
The second method that will help correct error E27 in a Bosch dishwasher is to connect it to the electrical network through a voltage stabilizer. We will describe how to do this correctly in the next paragraph.
Installing a voltage stabilizer
The most difficult thing is to choose the right stabilizer for the dishwasher. Practice shows that it is better to install one stabilizer on several appliances at once, for example, on a dishwasher, refrigerator and washing machine, in which an error about low voltage in the network may also be displayed. If possible, you can also install a main stabilizer on the entire electrical network in your house or apartment. Undoubtedly, the second option will be much more expensive, but all devices will be protected from power surges and failure.
The main parameter that is taken into account when choosing is the power of the stabilizer. It is calculated based on the power consumption of the devices, which can be found in the instructions for the device. You count the total power of all devices connected to the stabilizer and add another margin of about 20%, and you get the result.
Russian stabilizers are considered excellent in terms of reliability and price-quality ratio. They are no worse than European ones, but almost twice as expensive.
Which stabilizer is better, compensatory or wide-range, depends on your network. A compensatory stabilizer combats low voltage and increases it to normal. It has small dimensions and reasonable cost. A wide-range stabilizer is necessary for those whose network voltage not only drops above normal, but also significantly exceeds them. If the network voltage ranges from 165 to 255 W, then a compensatory stabilizer is sufficient, and if surges occur above 255 W, then a wide-range stabilizer is needed, which costs more and makes noise during operation.
Connecting a stabilizer designed for 2-3 devices is not difficult. You plug it into the outlet, and connect the electrical plugs from the dishwasher and washing machine to the stabilizer, that’s all. There is no need to configure the device. The main stabilizer is connected a little differently. It is connected to the network via terminals; it is best to entrust this to a specialist.
Electricians advise connecting household appliances not only through a stabilizer, but also installing a difavtomat on the network. This is necessary in order to protect devices and the electrical network from overload. That is, when the network load is high, the automatic circuit breaker trips and interrupts the current supply. You can read about the complete connection of the dishwasher to communications in the article How to connect a Bosch dishwasher.
So, error E 27 in a Bosch dishwasher warns of a decrease in network voltage. If one day such an error appears, then you should take it more seriously and take care of stabilizing the voltage in the network. Sometimes spending $50-60 on a stabilizer can save not only your equipment from expensive repairs, but also you from unnecessary worries.
When describing a wide-range stabilizer, you indicate the voltage 165-255, and write the dimension W (Watt is a measure of power, not voltage).
