Daewoo washing machine shows error E2
Modern Daewoo washing machines can independently detect breakdowns in the system and notify the user about them. Machines with a display display the corresponding code on the screen, machines without a display flash their indicators in a certain order. Error E2 appears extremely rarely on the digital display of Daewoo washing machines. Let's figure out what kind of malfunction this code warns about, how to get the “home assistant” back to work?
What kind of error is this?
The Daewoo washing machine issues code E2 while filling the tank with water. That is, the error can “come out” at the very beginning of the cycle, or at the rinsing stage. If you notice that the machine is frozen, do not panic. It is necessary to get together and find out the reason for the malfunction of the equipment.
Error E2 indicates problems with water intake.
What to do first? To begin with, it is worth understanding that the “culprit” for stopping the washing machine in such a situation may be one of the following elements:
- pressure switch The sensor measures the amount of water in the tank and transmits this information to the control module;
- inlet valve. The membrane opens when it is necessary to draw water into the system and closes when the tank is filled to the required level;
- control module. The “brain” of the machine coordinates the work of all the main components. If the semiconductor elements, for example those controlling the pressure switch, are damaged, the machine “freezes”, unable to continue washing.
When washing and rinsing, an automatic machine draws a certain amount of water. A broken solenoid valve may either not open at all and not “let” liquid in, or, on the contrary, may not close, ensuring continuous flow and self-draining.In any case, the washing machine will freeze.
A similar situation will occur if the pressure switch fails. Perhaps the tank will fill to the required level, but a broken level sensor will tell the “brain” that there is not enough water, or, on the contrary, a lot. Then washing will not be able to continue as normal. And finally, the control board. The “brain” controls the operation of all internal parts of the machine. If some kind of electronic failure occurs, the washing will stop.
When any of the listed modules does not function correctly, the machine “freezes”, displaying a code on the display. First of all, you need to try to reset the error E2, perhaps a reboot will help revive the equipment. If resetting the settings does not bring the expected result, diagnostics of the machine will be required.
Momentary system failure
Let's say error E2 appears on the display for the first time. You should not immediately call a technician or disassemble the case, trying to do the repairs yourself. First, be sure to try to restart the machine. If the washer freezes in the middle of the cycle, then you need to act like this:
- turn off the washing by pressing the button on the control panel;
- unplug the power cord from the outlet;
- tilt the machine back, place a low block under the bottom;
- open the technical door behind which the garbage filter is hidden;
- place a container under the washing machine to collect water, cover the floor around with dry rags;
- Locate the hose located near the drain filter. It is designed for emergency removal of water from the tank;
- remove the “plug” and drain the water from the washing machine;
- wait until the hatch unlocks. This should happen after the machine is “emptied”;
- open the door and remove items from the drum;
- Unscrew the garbage filter.Clean the spiral and hole from debris and dirt;
- screw the element into place;
- take out the detergent dispenser;
- rinse the dispenser to remove powder residues;
- push the tray back into place.
After this, you can remove the block from under the washing machine and plug in the equipment. Next, pour the powder into the tray as usual, load the laundry into the drum and evenly distribute the items inside. Then close the door and try to start the wash again. Sometimes a simple reboot helps correct the situation, and the equipment starts working as if nothing had happened.
If error E2 appears again, you will have to diagnose the Daewoo washing machine, identify the cause of the problem and fix it.
The pressure switch is “guilty”
You can fix the washing machine yourself if you have free time. When you don’t want to tinker with equipment, call a specialist. We’ll tell you how to do the repairs yourself, so as not to overpay for the work of a specialist. First of all, it is recommended to check the pressure switch. The water level sensor is one of the most fragile elements of any automatic machine.. Usually the tube either becomes clogged or the coil and wiring burn out. The algorithm of actions for diagnosing a part will be as follows:
- turn off the power to the Daewoo machine;
- move the unit away from the wall;
- Unscrew a couple of bolts securing the top panel of the case;
- remove the “lid” and put it aside;
- find the pressure switch, it is located closer to the upper right corner;
- Unscrew the screw that attaches the sensor to the body, unhook the tube, disconnect the wiring from the part;
- using a multimeter, check each supply wire one by one for breakdown;
- use a tester to ring the sensor coil.
If checking with a multimeter has proven that the pressure switch is faulty, it is necessary to replace it with a new one; the element cannot be repaired. When there are no signs of damage to the sensor, blow out its tube and clean the hose on which it is attached.
Debris and dirt accumulated in the pressure switch tube can cause the sensor to malfunction.
This is why it is so important to clean the elements well. After this, you should reconnect the pressure switch and check whether error E2 appears.
Fill valve not working
Since code E2 means problems with water intake, the next in line to check will be the inlet valve. It is also located at the top of the machine; to access the element, you will have to remove the housing cover.
The solenoid valve is located on the back of the housing, it is connected to the inlet hose, so it is very easy to find. There is no need to immediately remove the wiring from the part; first, measure the resistance of the coil using a multimeter. If you find any problems, replace the sensor.
If the inlet valve is working properly, you need to check the in-line filter. The mesh is installed at the entrance to the machine, and is often clogged with various impurities contained in tap water. Clean the element and install it back.
Electronics are "jamming"
If the cause of the “whims” of the Daewoo washing machine is not a broken pressure switch or inlet valve, all that remains is to check the control module. It is he who controls the process of water collection and can trigger error E2.
It is very difficult to repair the control unit with your own hands. Without the necessary knowledge and sufficient experience, it is not recommended to meddle with the electronics of the machine. You can make the situation worse by further damaging the board.Then you will need to purchase a new module, and this is a fairly large investment. A service center specialist will test the firmware and determine the problem. Afterwards, he will make a decision on the advisability of repairing the control board. The technician will be able to competently replace broken semiconductors, update the software and solder the tracks.
