Error E15 in Neff dishwasher

What does this code mean?

Frankly speaking, this error is far from the most serious. You can fix it yourself, without resorting to the help of technicians from the service center, but you will have to roll up your sleeves. 1. This sensor is located in the pan and is a float on a wire, which is connected to a contact.
2. If water begins to flow into the pan, the float rises and closes the contact, which, when closed, sends an alarm signal to the control module.

The mechanism is simple, but it will work smoothly until you remove the water from the pan.

3. The control module completely blocks the flow of water into the dishwasher, stops its operation and displays the blinking code E15.

Why does water get into the pan? One of the pipes may be leaking, or water may be leaking into the tray from the washing chamber due to the lower seal being removed. These reasons are quite real, but not in our case. Let's explain why.If water enters the pan as a result of an internal leak, error E15 will most likely be preceded by some other system error. If we only have code E15, then with 98% certainty we can say that the culprit is a clogged garbage filter, which does not allow water to escape and squeezes it through the rubber seals into the pan.

How to eliminate the cause of its appearance?

What should I do to resume normal water supply and stop its flow into the pan? First of all, you need to clean the garbage filter, since this is where the most powerful and unpleasant blockage occurs, which can paralyze the operation of the entire Neff dishwasher. Let's do the following.

1. Let's completely turn off the dishwasher, disconnect all the hoses and take it out into the middle of the room.
2. Place as many rags as possible near the right wall of the building, which absorb well, and place a bucket next to it for washing the floor.
3. We strongly tilt the machine on its right side and wait until the water completely pours out of the pan.
4. If there is a lot of water, it is advisable to substitute a basin or some more convenient container.
5. After draining the water, we place the dishwasher near a radiator or in another warm place so that its tray dries.
6. At the same time, open the machine door and roll out the lower basket in order to put it aside.
7. At the bottom of the washing chamber we find a garbage filter, unscrew it and clean it thoroughly. We also clean the metal mesh that is located next to the filter.
8. We put the filter in place and after drying the machine, we connect it and check it. The error should disappear.

It may turn out that clogging the garbage filter will only worsen the problem with the O-rings.Typically, when excess pressure occurs due to a clogged dishwasher system, the first to suffer is the sealing ring of the module into which the garbage filter is inserted. The sealing ring can be reached by unscrewing the right side wall of the Neff dishwasher. It would be more convenient to do this through the pan, but I really don’t want to remove it because of such a small thing as a seal.

A worn o-ring is clearly visible; it needs to be pulled out and a new one put in its place. To clear your conscience, you can also inspect the pipes. It is very possible that one of them has burst and is leaking. Maybe one of the clamps is loose. In general, once you have removed the side wall, inspect all the parts that you can reach.
