Fault code E15 for a Bosch dishwasher
Dishwashers are still a luxury item. However, some have already managed to get used to such convenient and modern technology.
And if suddenly a Bosch dishwasher suddenly stops working, displaying an error code on the screen, you really don’t want to go back to manual labor. Therefore, we urgently need to figure out what the reason is, how to eliminate it and return the equipment to working order.
Explanation of the error, reasons for its occurrence
A decoding and explanation of all codes programmed in Bosch dishwashers is in the attached instructions. But it is not always clear what to do in this or that case.
Error E15 informs the user that the Aqua-Stop leak protection has activated. This means that water has entered the pan of the machine or the float has become stuck. The reasons for water leakage may be the following:
- The leakage sensor is faulty.
- Clogged drain system (filter, hose, sewer).
- Worn pipes or poor sealing.
- There is a defect in the water sprayer.
Error E15 is one of the most common errors in Bosch dishwashers. In most cases, you can solve it yourself; do not rush to call specialists. People who have encountered a similar malfunction write on thematic forums that in order to correct the error, the dishwasher must be disconnected from the electrical network and tilted 450, sometimes it is enough to move the washing machine in place. This will help eliminate sticking of the float in the pan. Then you need to drain the water from the pan by tilting the machine, and then dry it. Usually a day is enough for the washing machine to dry thoroughly.
Of course, for those who have a machine built into their kitchen set, this is inconvenient, but on the other hand, it is better than calling a specialist. After such manipulation with the machine, as a rule, error E15 disappears, and the machine continues to work as expected. If the error reappears, you will have to fix a more serious problem.
Important! Excess foam in the dishwasher can lead to leakage, which will trigger the Aqua-Stop system, so you need to use as much detergent as indicated on the package.
Clean the filter, change the drain hose and pipes
If the filter is clogged with food debris on the dishes, it can also cause error E15. In a dishwasher, the filter is located at the bottom. To get it out, you need to open the washing machine door, pull out the dish tray, then unscrew the lid at the bottom. Under the lid there is a filter, which is a cylinder with a mesh. It must be rinsed well under running water.
As for the drain hose, to clean or replace it, you will have to disassemble the machine body. Let us describe this process using the Bosch SRS45 dishwasher as an example. What do we have to do?
- First, unplug the machine, remove the filter and prepare a place so that it can be placed comfortably.
- Now take a screwdriver and unscrew the left and right housing cover.
- Turn the machine over and place it upside down.
- Next, using a star screwdriver, unscrew the front panel with legs; the bolts holding it are located on the left and right sides of the machine.
- Now unscrew the metal strip under the panel; under it there is a couple more screws that also need to be unscrewed.
- Next, remove the bolts from the back of the machine.
- Disconnect the rubber bands holding the pump to the bottom of the machine.
- Remove the two plastic plugs located on the sides of the machine.
- Disconnect the door holder.
- Unscrew the rope from the spring and now carefully remove the lower part of the housing.
So, the machine is disassembled, access to the internal parts is provided. Locate the end of the drain hose attached to the pump. Carefully remove the hose from the pump using pliers. Inspect the hose for defects and cracks, if any, purchase a new one, and along with the hose, buy a clamp to secure it to the pump. You need to reassemble the washing machine in reverse order.
Having disassembled the machine as described above, you can immediately inspect all the pipes. They may not be tightened properly, what should I do? Buy new clamps and install them on the pipes. If any of the pipes is damaged, then we buy an original spare part and replace it.
Replacing the leakage sensor and sprinkler
Cases with a malfunction of the leakage sensor and the sprinkler when error E15 occurs are extremely rare. If the sensor malfunctions, it may operate even when there is no water in the pan or may not operate when there is some. Therefore, it is necessary to change it. The sensor is located on a plastic cup at the bottom of the machine. It is easy to change, the main thing is to buy a spare part suitable for the Bosch dishwasher of the required model.
Replacing a faulty sprinkler will not take much time; anyone can do it.
There are two spray arms in the dishwasher and they are replaceable, so they are freely available in the store. To replace the lower spray arm, pull out the dryer, use a screwdriver to press the spray arm holder and pull it out, insert the new one until it clicks. The top sprinkler changes in the same way, only it is located on top of the dryer.
So, error E15 in a dishwasher from the famous Bosch company is not serious enough to call a technician. In most cases, everything is solved independently and without disassembling the body of the machine itself.
Cool! Thank you!
Error E15 - activation of the aquastop, this is a repair with restoration of sealing, but damn, no rocking from side to side, water flows from the tank to the bottom of the machine, only disassembly and sealing.
It probably happens that the sensor simply sticks.
In my case it was exactly like that. water dripped drop by drop into the bottom tray. Without a sensor, with a bunch of napkins under the leak, everything worked. All that remains is to find the source of the leak and seal it :) Who knows what and how?)
Do you need to disassemble the entire machine to seal it?
Yeah, of course - I just got a piece of film from the packaging in the filter - it was so thin and transparent, it was not visible. And she blocked the flow of water. As soon as I pulled it out, everything became normal. And if I had gone to take everything apart, I would have been fussing in vain!
I decided to experiment: I poured dishwashing liquid into the dispenser. The washing machine immediately filled with foam and displayed error E15. I had to wash it by hand to remove the foam and dry it. No master was needed.
The wife poured the fairies. The dishwasher started cursing. E15 says. What to do?
I never write for such articles, but here – thank you!
My filter also became stuck and water started dripping into the pan through the door seal. I cleaned the filter, unscrewed it and drained the pan, a minute later it was working :)
Let me make a comment - the video is too long and sometimes boring. But very useful!
It helped too. Thank you!
I have an assembly defect... the water supply hose behind the lid was bent (I straightened the bend and wrapped it with electrical tape for rigidity. Everything works :)
How to completely drain the water from a barrel?
This is the second time I have this problem. I wipe everything dry and leave the door open at night. In the morning everything starts working as usual.
I started to take it apart, there is a lot of water in the container on the left side, is this normal? What to do?
The PMM will not collect “extra” water! Salt does not wash away fat, but softens the water! And you need to fill it up more than once every six months!
