Error E03 in Hansa washing machine
The main models of Hansa washing machines are equipped with a fairly clear and transparent self-diagnosis system, so understanding it is not difficult. The main thing is to approach the process carefully and not accidentally confuse the error codes. For example, error E03 in a Hansa washing machine indicates either that the machine is not well taken care of, or that there is a really serious breakdown. How to figure out what's what?
What is this code about?
Literally every function of the washing machine has its own fault code, which identifies a problem in the device of this function. As for the above error E03, it tells us about problems with the drain. There are two options for how this all happens:
- the drain pump itself was damaged, and water actually remained in the machine after washing;
- The water level sensor failed, that is, in fact, water left the tank, but the washing machine did not understand this, since the sensor did not give a signal.
In the latter case, the machine simply freezes, since the washing program officially ends only after there is no water left in the tank. Due to a broken pressure switch, this is impossible, so the treasured combination of letters and numbers is displayed on the display.
It also sometimes happens that the drain hose or other elements of the drain system simply become clogged, preventing water from flowing through. In this case, it is enough to clean them, and this will eliminate the problem.
Are we checking everything in order?
Since blockage is the most easily removable cause, you need to start there. First of all, we inspect the drain filter. It is located at the bottom of the machine; there is a special niche for it, closed with a small door.Once you open it, you will see a small round lid that you need to turn counterclockwise and pull slightly towards you. This is the filter, and you just removed it!
Attention! When removing the filter, water will inevitably pour out of it, so first place something like a towel or large napkin.
It is not easy to understand by eye whether there is a blockage in the filter or not. So rinse it with tap water and see how dirty it was. If the water was relatively clean, it means there is no blockage in the filter.
Next in line is the drain hose, which can also become clogged with various debris. This element connects the washing unit to the sewer pipe. To clean:
- loosen the clamp that secures the hose to the sewer;
- Prepare a large container (basin or bucket) into which waste water will be drained.
Immediately after this, place the hose in a bucket and drain the remaining water. Now get rid of the drain filter if you haven't already. Disconnect the pump from the housing, namely, unscrew the screw holding it. Turn the machine over on its side so that you can reach the bottom, and begin inspection:
- remove the drain pump from the bottom;
- loosen the fastening on the hose;
- remove it and rinse thoroughly under running water.
After these steps, you can mount the washer back and check whether your efforts were in vain. What to do if you still find yourself?
In any case, the hardest part is over. Even if, after turning on the test mode, the annoying error does not disappear, and the washing program still does not start, do not despair. Try to inspect the pressure switch. Getting to it is much easier - you just need to unscrew two screws on the top cover and remove it. On the side you will see a round object from which a hose and wires stretch down - this is the water control sensor.
As a rule, wiring, hoses, and other elements in a pressure switch can fail. Therefore, do not rush to replace the part itself. If after diagnostics you do not find any visible problems, then the problem is most likely in the electronic module. In this case, making repairs yourself is very problematic, but if you have time and a lot of desire, it is certainly possible. Still, in some cases, with a careful and responsible approach, even users without any special skills can fix error E03 on their own, so don’t panic!
