ddC error in Samsung washing machine
Modern washing technology provides a wide variety of errors in case of a problem. The ddC error in a Samsung washing machine is considered one of the most common, so it is very easy to encounter. This code informs the user that the hatch door is not locked and therefore the work cycle cannot be started. There is nothing wrong if the user simply forgot to slam the door until it clicks, but what to do in a situation where the door is broken? Let's look at this difficult situation and how to fix it at home.
The mechanism inside the door is to blame
If the breakdown occurred due to a mechanical problem with the door, then you will not be able to slam it until it clicks. In this situation, the hatch will either not be fixed in the provided grooves, or will simply be pushed away from the body of the “home assistant”. If such a malfunction occurs, there will be a feeling that the lock is being interfered with by some foreign object blocking the fixation of the mechanism. In any case, the result is the same - when the door is closed, a characteristic click will not be heard, which is why washing will remain inaccessible.
Typically, door damage is associated with a high load that is not provided for by the manufacturer of the household appliance. This list includes slamming the hatch too hard, trying to hang wet clothes on it, and playing with little family members who tried to ride on the door. All of the above can cause a number of breakdowns that will require repairs to the equipment.
- Door warp. Door hinges may sag during operation if you actively use the machine for many years.However, the mechanism will deteriorate even faster if you hang heavy objects on the hatch or slam it tightly. You can try to restore the balance with your own hands by first adjusting the position of the hatch and then tightening the fasteners. If the fasteners are broken, they need to be removed and new parts installed in their place.
Try to buy original spare parts - they will not only fit the device perfectly, but will also last much longer than cheap analogues.
- Tongue displacement. We are talking about a small hook inside the locking mechanism, which holds the door in the closed position with the help of a small metal rod. The question may arise of what to do in a situation when this rod falls out of its seat, causing the entire stopper to shift. It is not difficult to fix such a problem, but you will have to partially disassemble the door, open the locking mechanism and return the metal rod to its original position.
- Damage to the handle. Also, restoration may be required for the door handle, which can also fail due to the strong slamming of the door. Unfortunately, repair is impossible here, so it will be possible to restore normal adhesion of the door to the SM body only after replacing the element.
- Guide faulty. The plastic guide plate is necessary to bend and fix the hook in the groove when the lock is activated. If the plate is worn out or broken, the locking mechanism tongue will not be able to lock and thus lock the door.
It is impossible to determine the cause of the breakdown with the naked eye. To do this, you will have to carefully study each of these elements in turn, following our instructions.
- Unplug household appliances.
- Open the hatch door.
- Explore the castle.
- Using a star screwdriver, unscrew the fasteners that hold the door to the washer body.
- Lift the door and remove it.
- Assess the integrity of the hinges, replace them if necessary, or simply tighten them tighter.
- Loosen the screws securing the two halves of the door to open it and gain easy access to the locking mechanism.
- Examine the node carefully.
Do not use too much force during the repair process so as not to accidentally damage other fragile parts of the washer.
Due to the fact that it is extremely difficult to find original components for a door handle or locking mechanism, you will have to look for new elements entirely. It will be more expensive, but you will get a completely new working unit that will last for many years. Without purchasing a new spare part, you can fix only such a small malfunction as the displacement of the rod, tongue or hinges.
The UBL mechanism is “jamming”
Finally, we’ll look at an unpleasant malfunction when the door closes until it clicks, but the work cycle still cannot be started. In this case, the hatch blocking device is to blame, which operates automatically immediately after the wash is activated. This is usually done in order to provide the user with additional protection against accidental opening of the hatch during operation. If the UBL fails, then there will be no additional fixation, which will be detected by the Samsung control board, which will not allow the work cycle to start. The sunroof locking device may stop functioning properly due to the following problems:
- blockage;
- damage to the device;
- manufacturing defects;
- control board failure.
If foreign objects or dirt have entered the device, it can be easily eliminated with your own hands.You just need to remove the UBL, disassemble it and thoroughly clean it of any blockages. In a situation where the bimetallic plate has failed, or a short circuit has occurred, the element will have to be replaced.
If the door electronics do not switch on before washing, then a faulty UBL or control board is to blame.
Finally, the last and most unpleasant option is a breakdown of the control board. If a software failure occurs, chips, tracks or contacts burn out, then the blocking device simply will not receive a message about the need for a block. This can happen due to sudden power surges in the network, a one-time failure, or chaotic pressing of buttons on the SM control panel. In any case, only a qualified technician with the necessary knowledge and equipment should carry out diagnostics and repairs, so it is better not to try to remove and repair the board yourself, so as not to accidentally damage it even more.
