This fault code can appear even on new machines, during the first wash. The user, seeing the symbol displayed on the display, begins to think that he received a washing machine with a manufacturing defect. Let's figure out what error d01 on a Bosch machine means, what kind of failure we are talking about.

Purpose of the cipher

In most cases, the code is displayed on the Bosch machine after the tank is filled with water. In this case, you can hear the sound of liquid leaking from the system. It goes into the sewer by gravity, without the participation of a drain pump. Error d01 informs about “self-draining”, which occurs due to improper connection of the drain hose.

Thus, error code d01 does not indicate a manufacturing defect at all, but informs that the washing machine is connected to the sewer outlet incorrectly. If the drain hose is not “thrown” according to the instructions, spontaneous flow of water from the drum is almost guaranteed. The hose will be below the level of the tank, lying directly on the floor, and these are ideal conditions for the smooth removal of newly collected liquid from the system.

If you leave everything in this form, then the unpleasant sewer “aroma” will easily enter the washing machine. Therefore, it is important to organize a protective air cushion in the siphon.

The siphon has a separate branch where a corrugated hose is connected. It is curved so that water enters and remains in the curve, acting as an “air barrier.” This plug will not let any unpleasant smell into the machine. The “cushion” does not interfere with drainage in any way; it is updated the next time water is discharged into the sewer.

To organize the drain more efficiently, it is recommended to install a siphon with a check valve.

Such a device will block not only unpleasant odors, but also dirty water from entering the washer tank. It is also recommended to build a safety valve into the siphon. It is necessary so that if the pipe becomes clogged, the wastewater under pressure does not flow back into the machine.

After the siphon is installed, it is necessary to connect the drain hose to its branch. It is important to tightly tighten the clamp securing the sleeve.

The second option is to include a drainage hose in a branch sewer pipe. Under such conditions, an adapter ring-seal will be required. The gasket will ensure the tightness of the connection. This method is more labor-intensive than the previous one, but it will be optimal if the automatic machine is located more than two meters from the siphon.

When organizing drainage through a siphon or directly, it is important to take into account the distance to the outlet point. The place where the end of the drainage hose is located must rise 50-60 cm above the floor level. When connecting to a pipe outlet, it is possible to reduce the distance to 40 cm. The maximum drain hose can be raised by 100 cm, otherwise the pump power will not be enough to pump out water.

By organizing the drain through a siphon or into a pipe, the likelihood of an emergency leak when the hose is involuntarily touched is reduced. It is not advisable to simply throw the hose into the bathtub or sink - it is unsafe and unhygienic. After eliminating the cause of self-draining, error code d01 will disappear.
