Finish dishwasher rinse aid review
Finish washing dishes in the dishwasher - rinsing and drying. The quality of these steps largely depends on the rinse you use. The market offers a huge selection of “chemicals”, among which the most popular is the Finish rinse aid. This is exactly what we will talk about.
Ingredients of the rinse aid
According to the label on the product bottle, Finish dishwasher rinse aid contains three substances:
- nonionic surfactants from 5 to 15%, which suppress foam and prevent darkening of dishes;
- polycarboxylates - substances that enhance the effect of the previous ones and soften water;
- preservatives are substances that neutralize odors and prevent the formation of microorganisms and mold.
How to use
Take a look at the dishes that have dried naturally after hand washing, you will definitely see stains and stains. And this is not because you didn’t wash the dishes well, but because the water contains various impurities. To prevent this from happening, and to keep glass, plates, cutlery and other dishes shiny and looking like new, rinse aid is used when rinsing in the dishwasher.
In addition, dishwasher rinse aid is necessary to help dishes dry faster. Thanks to the product, the surface tension of water is reduced and it evaporates faster. The main thing is to use the rinse aid correctly. The tray for it is usually located on the dishwasher door and is marked with a flower. Do not confuse it with the powder compartment; if you pour the product along with the powder, there will be no effect.
So, before starting the machine, you need to pour the product into the tray according to the instructions on the package. However, all dishwashers are different, so you will understand exactly how much to pour after a few washes. An overdose is just as bad as an underdose. The dishes will be covered with a white coating, which is not good.
For your information! Most modern dishwashers have a special indicator that will notify you if the rinse aid in the compartment has run out.
Advantages and disadvantages
Why you need a rinse aid and how to use it is all very clear, but what are the pros and cons of the Finish rinse aid is worth understanding. As the manufacturer promises us, the advantages of this product are as follows:
- gives exceptional shine to dishes;
- drying is fast and, most importantly, better;
- protects dishes from water drops and drips that remain after drying;
- protects dishes and the machine from limescale deposits.
If we talk about obvious disadvantages that can be named even before you try this product in action, then this is the price. The product is not cheap, so people often think about How can I replace dishwasher rinse aid?.

I’ve only used Finish, so I can’t compare it with anything else. So, as it turned out, there is nothing special, I’m not happy, there’s no point in it, except for drying. Without the product, the dishes do not dry at all, and as for streaks, there are none without it. The main thing is to remember that the dose of the product will determine how the dishes are washed from soap; the harder the water, the more rinse aid you should pour.If the water is not hard at all, then the product can be half as much and diluted with water. A 400 ml bottle is used economically, I haven’t run out of it yet, but 4.5 months have already passed.

My dishwasher is several years old and I have been using tablets as a detergent for a long time. It turned out to be inconvenient, since I had to divide it in half. We switched to powder and, accordingly, rinse aid, which, as I understand it, should wash away the remaining powder, giving the dishes a shine. As for the first task, the powder is easy to wash off with ordinary water, there’s not even a smell left, just like after the rinse aid. But I won’t say anything special about the shine, since we don’t have many glasses, and the ones we have seem to shine. And finally, drying. Dishes dry perfectly without any detergent.
Therefore, the conclusion is that there is not much difference in washing with rinse aid. The bottle lasted only 1.5 months. In my opinion, you can save money on it.

I give Finish rinse aid 3 points for the disgusting smell that appears on the dishes. The only downside is this, otherwise everything is gorgeous, especially in the crystal shine. No other product can handle dishes like this. After washing, you have to wait until this unrealistically nasty, simply disgusting smell disappears. If it weren't for him, I would only buy this product.

Having purchased a dishwasher, we immediately began using the rinse aid from this company, since the manufacturer provides a quality guarantee. In our car, the rinse aid is added once every 2-3 months, depending on how many times the washing machine is turned on. This rinse is different in that:
- is used sparingly;
- any dishes shine, even porcelain and stainless steel;
- the dishes are completely dry;
- there are no divorces left.
There were some downsides:
- It is extremely inconvenient to pour the product into the tray due to the fact that the bottle is large and has a spout and the product spills past;
- high price.
In general, this product is necessary, the dishes after it are ideal. I recommend it to everyone.

A long time ago, I don’t even remember when it was, I bought a Finish product, but I’ve already forgotten which one it was. I decided to try it again, and it turned out that it was terrible, and also not cheap. I don't like the fact that glass glasses become cloudy and there is a residue on spoons and forks. The other dishes are fine, no leaks. In general, the promised exceptional shine is not there. I don't recommend it to anyone.
Once again we are convinced that there are so many people, so many opinions. Until you try the product on your car, you won't know anything. Good luck with your tests!
