Cons of Bosch washing machines
On the Internet you can easily find many positive reviews about washing machines of the German brand. They seem to be perfect in everything. Sometimes the thought flashes that people do not express a personal opinion, but write something “custom” for a fee. Let's try to do the opposite and collect information about the main disadvantages of Bosch washing machines. Let's see what disadvantages this technique has.
Main disadvantages
Probably no washing machine can be perfect in everything. Although there are many laudatory reviews about Bosch equipment, and the reliability of German machines is beyond doubt, there are still shortcomings that mar the use of washing machines. Typically, buyers highlight the following disadvantages of equipment:
- high price. Indeed, when compared with budget brands, the price of individual Bosch models may seem overpriced;
- small holes on the surface of the drum. Due to this, the laundry remains quite wet even after an intensive spin cycle. Fortunately, this feature is typical only for some models;
- flimsy handle. The hatch door handle breaks very often. You have to repair the machine, and this is an additional hassle;
- insensitive touch display. You have to press the buttons several times for the display to respond to touches;
- vertical loading models are quite noisy;
- On “vertical” vehicles, the tank auto-parking function does not always work. After washing, the closed doors of the drum sometimes remain at the bottom, and you have to manually turn the container to get things out;
- Sometimes errors occur in the execution of washing programs. Intelligence independently changes parameters, switching to other modes.Some users, as a result of such “self-government,” had their delicate things spoiled.
Also, depending on the model of the washing machine, we can talk about other disadvantages. For example, some machines do a poor job of rinsing the conditioner out of the cuvette, others waste too much water, while others leave liquid after the cycle and the washing machine has to be dried.
For some users, the self-cleaning drum feature is very important, but it is not available on all models. Therefore, this fact may also seem to be a significant drawback.
It is better to read reviews about a specific Bosch model to understand what disadvantages are typical for it.
You should choose a washing machine “for yourself”. Not all disadvantages of Bosch equipment may be significant for you specifically.

When choosing a new automatic machine, almost the main criterion was the depth of the case. A narrow washing machine, 40 cm, was required. After studying a bunch of information on the Internet, we decided to settle on the Bosch WLG 20060 model, costing about $200. After a couple of months of use, I only dream of replacing it.
As for the advantages of the machine, it is an affordable price and compact size. Another advantage of the device is that it operates almost silently. This is where the pros end and the cons begin.
Our washing machine:
- does not completely rinse the detergent out of the fabric when starting the quick program. After the cycle you have to turn on the additional rinse again;
- Doesn't remove stains well, even fresh ones. Therefore, express modes are only suitable for refreshing almost clean items;
- copes with dirt only when running long programs lasting 2-3 hours.
Washing bed linen turns into torture for me. The entire set cannot be washed at once; you have to “twist” the duvet cover separately, then the sheet and pillowcases. Before the cycle, I soak the products, and after that I run another rinse. This is the only way to achieve clean fabric.
The program switch knob on our model is very sensitive. If you pass by and slightly catch the roller, the cycle stops. You have to start the wash again.
I'm really waiting for the machine to break down so I can buy a new one with peace of mind. A washing machine should make a woman’s life easier, but with this machine I’m just suffering. Our next “home assistant” will definitely be of a different brand.

I also want to share my opinion about using a Bosch washing machine for a year. I won’t say that my experience is bitter, but the machine still causes some inconvenience.
Among the advantages of the Bosch washing machine I can highlight silent operation, compact size and good build quality.
As it seems initially, the machine has many different modes, but after several weeks of use it becomes clear that most of the programs are kind of stupid. For example, there is “Night wash”. It lasts an hour and a half, despite the fact that the laundry remains wet, since it does not involve spinning. That is, if you start the cycle before bed, things will lie in the drum with water for several hours in a row. Then what kind of purity can we talk about?
When purchasing, we pinned our hopes on the Shirts/Blouses program. My husband and I are office workers, so we have to refresh the white “top” every 2-3 days. The machine simply soaks things for an hour and a half in a full drum, only occasionally “fluffing” the laundry. Of course, stains from light fabric are not completely removed using this mode, and the desired whiteness cannot be achieved.
I also don't like the "Children's Clothes" mode. Just a dummy, with a maximum water heating temperature of 60 degrees. My two sons' street clothes are still dirty after washing and need to be spun at at least 90°C.
As a result, out of the entire set of various programs, my family uses only “Intensive” and “Super Fast”. There is a button on the panel to reduce the cycle time - also a very useful addition, a plus for this machine.
And the last negative that is worth mentioning is that after six months of operation, the spin time on the machine began to “fly off”. For example, if this stage should last 15 minutes, then jumps are now observed, and the duration is reduced to 5 minutes.
