Where to pour powder in a Siemens washing machine?
Siemens washing machines have long been firmly established in our everyday life. However, there are still people who have problems using them. The issue with the dispenser especially often arises - it is not clear which compartment to pour the washing powder into. Let's figure it out.
What are the drawer compartments for?
The Siemens washing machine dispenser consists of three parts. Each compartment is designated by a Roman numeral or a special symbol, and is intended for a specific detergent. The location of the cells may vary depending on the specific model, and such numbering helps to quickly understand their purpose.
- The first compartment on the right usually has the number I. It is used when the laundry is heavily soiled, when the items require pre-washing/soaking. Washing powder is poured here in the volume indicated on the package.
- The tray compartment with the number II on Siemens washing machines is located on the left. This compartment is also designed for washing powder. It is considered basic and is used in all other programs.
- A cell with a flower symbol or *. Rinse aid, conditioner, and other fabric softeners are poured here. This compartment is very different in appearance, it is difficult to accidentally confuse it with other cells. There is a special mark inside for proper dosing of the rinse aid.
Important! When pre-washing, use only dry detergent, since liquid substances will flow into the drum at the very beginning of the cycle, and the main part of the program will be washed in ordinary water.
It is not recommended to pour detergent directly into the drum.During the operating cycle, the machine draws and drains water several times. The first splash of liquid will wash away all the powder and you will end up with a poor quality wash. But the chemicals will flow through the dispenser in separate batches, after preliminary dilution with water.
Powder drawer compartments mixed up
Try to be more careful when loading detergents. But don’t worry if you accidentally mix up the dispenser compartments. Nothing bad will happen, the quality of the wash will just suffer.
The Siemens washing machine independently determines at which part of the cycle and from which cell to take the detergent. For example, you put the powder in the conditioner compartment instead of the standard tray compartment. The machine knows that the contents of this compartment should go into the drum after the main stage is completed, and takes it away during rinsing. As a result, you end up with poorly washed clothes that smell strongly of product.
Let's take another case. If you pour the powder into the compartment with the star when the soaking function is on, the machine will simply rinse your items in clean water. The soak function increases the cycle time by 3-19 hours, and the pre-wash by 15-120 minutes. Imagine how much time you will waste, and your laundry will remain just as dirty!
The problem can be solved simply: run the cycle again, taking into account previous errors. It is advisable not to confuse the compartments of the tray and immediately put everything in the right place. Otherwise, it will be a senseless waste of not only time, but also powder, electricity and water. But if you follow all the rules, the quality of laundry processing from a Siemens washing machine will be at its best!
