Error codes for Vestel washing machines
Over time, washing machine parts wear out and break. The user learns about a malfunction of a particular machine component by various symptoms, including a code on the display. Knowing the error code, you can reduce the time it takes to troubleshoot and make it easier for yourself to fix it. Therefore, in this article we decided to talk about the error codes of the Vestel washing machine.
Error codes on different machines
In most cases, breakdowns occur on old machines of the Turkish brand Vestel, which are not equipped with a display. However, they also have a built-in self-diagnosis system in the form of indicators on the control panel. Let us show the correspondence of codes on washing machines without a display to alphanumeric codes.
- Code E01 corresponds to the blinking first and second indicators.
For your information! On most washing machines, the first 1 indicator is start/pause, 2 indicator is rinse delay, 3 indicator is light ironing, 4 is additional rinse.
- Code E02 corresponds to the blinking first and third indicators.
- Code E03 - the first and fourth indicator.
- Code E04 – flashing second and third indicator.
- Code E05 corresponds to a flashing second and fourth indicator.
- Code E06 corresponds to the blinking of the third and fourth lights.
- Code E07 - flashing of three lights at once: the first, second and third.
- Code E08 - flashing of the second, third and fourth lights.
- Code E09 - flashing of the first, second and fourth lights.
Decoding codes
Each of the errors presented above most often indicates a malfunction of some part. Let's take a closer look at what these errors mean.
- Error E01 informs the user that the drum door in the machine is not tightly closed.
- Error E02 indicates low water pressure into the washing machine, causing the water to not reach the required minimum.
- Error E03 is associated with a pump that is either clogged or faulty.
- Error E04 indicates that the tank is full of water, which could happen due to a breakdown of the fill valve, pressure switch or electronic module.
- Error E05 is a consequence of a broken temperature sensor or heating element.
- Error E06 informs about a malfunction of the electric motor.
- Error E07 is associated with a breakdown of the electronic module of the washing machine.
- Error E08 indicates a power failure.
- Error E09 informs that the mains voltage is not normal.
Note! The mains voltage should not exceed 160-260 V.
Recommendations for elimination
If any error occurs, do not panic and immediately call the technician. Some problems can be fixed on your own. Here's what you can do in this or that case.
If error E01 appears, try pressing down the hatch door with your foot and starting the wash again. If the washing machine still does not start, then you need to replace the door lock device, do this according to the instructions from the article Vestel washing machine repair you can do it yourself.
You can independently solve the problem with poor water supply due to error E02. To do this, first check whether the water supply tap is closed. Then you need to check the fill valve mesh for blockages, you need to:
- disconnect the machine from the network;
- unscrew the water supply hose;
- Unscrew the mesh filter and rinse in water.
If the problem lies in a malfunction of the pressure switch, then in this case you need to open the top cover of the machine body and find the water level sensor. Then check the sensor contacts, the connection point with the pressure tube and the sensor itself. If necessary, replace the sensor with a similar one.
To resolve error E03, start by cleaning the drain filter, which is located at the bottom of the washing machine. It is unscrewed counterclockwise and washed under running water to remove debris and dirt. If, when draining, you do not hear the pump operating, and the water remains in the drum, then you need to change the pump. It can be changed through the bottom of the washing machine; the work is not difficult.
Overflow of the washing machine with water (E04) is primarily associated with the water supply valve.
For your information! The filling valve is one of the “sores” of Turkish Vestel machines.
Any owner who is good with a screwdriver and a multimeter can replace the valve. The valve is located immediately behind the rear wall, at the connection point for the water supply hose. Before work, do not forget to close the water supply tap.
As for the heating element, in Vestel washing machines it is located in the back. Therefore, in case of replacement, it is enough to open the service hatch and the heating element in front of you. The heating element is removed from its seat by unscrewing the fastening bolt and disconnecting the wires. When installing a new heater, do not use excessive force when tightening the nut, as damage may occur.
The washing machine's electric motor rarely breaks down. Basically, carbon brushes wear out, which, with some skill, can be replaced independently. However, most often they turn to a specialist with such a problem. If the motor winding burns out, then repair is completely impractical. In this case, the engine is changed.
We initially recommend entrusting problems related to electrical and electronics (E07, E08, E09) to a professional. If you don't deal with this, you can cause even more damage to your washing machine.Be attentive to your “home assistant”, successful renovation!
