How to use a washing machine baby
A washing machine of the “Malyutka” type helps out not only summer residents, but also students. Such machines are small in size, easy to carry, and inexpensive, which is why they are chosen even by bachelors who cannot afford to buy a full-fledged automatic machine.
Despite the simplicity of this unit, modern youth do not know how to use it. At home, washing in a machine, everything seemed simple, but when I had to move out from mom and dad, the question of doing laundry in a hostel or rented apartment, and even in an unknown machine, becomes a real challenge. We will tell the reader of the article in detail how to start washing on the Malyutka.
Preparing for washing
The “Malyutka” washing machine is a technique in which the rotation of the laundry is carried out using an activator, which is why such machines are called activating. Most Malyutka models only have a tank for loading laundry, an activator and a mechanical timer to start the wash. Only some washing machines are equipped with an installed centrifuge. Even less common are two-tank “Baby” ones, when one tank is intended for washing and the second for spinning clothes.
Whatever your “Baby” washing machine is, you need to prepare it for washing. First of all, you need to install the machine so that it is convenient for you to pour and drain water, load dry clothes and pull out wet ones. Usually the machine is placed on a wooden grate on a bathtub. This way, after washing, it will be more convenient to drain the water by opening the plug at the bottom of the machine, the water will pour into the bath. But you can also put the machine on the floor if you are, for example, in the country.In this case, you need to connect the drain hose to the drain hole and close it so that the water does not spill out.
As for water, many people get hot water from the tap. You can do this in the following ways:
- pour into a bucket and pour into the machine;
- put a shower hose in the machine;
- attach a hose to the water tap and draw water into the machine.
Important! Experts do not recommend drawing hot water from a tap. It is better to take a bucket of cold water and heat it to the desired temperature. Hot water, as a rule, has many impurities and may have a reddish tint; you should not wash white clothes and items made of delicate fabrics in such water.
After collecting water, pour the required amount of powder into it. Note that you can use any powder, even for hand washing. The main thing is to dissolve it well.
And finally, prepare the clothes and linen that need to be washed. Don't forget the following rules:
- We wash colored laundry separately from black and white.
- You need to wash in the Malyutka machine in small parts so as not to overload the equipment.
- Clothing with zippers and buttons should be buttoned and turned inside out.
- Take everything out of your clothing pockets.
Turn on the machine
So, the machine and things are prepared, you need to turn it on. There's nothing complicated about it. Close the machine with the lid and plug the washer's electrical cord into the nearest outlet. Then find the timer on the body and turn it for 1-6 minutes, it all depends on the degree of soiling of the laundry. If the laundry is very dirty, you can pre-soak it in the washing machine tub for about 20-30 minutes, and then start the wash. Very dirty laundry can be spun twice.
Note! If you need to turn on the machine several times in a row, then do it at intervals of at least 5-10 minutes.During this time, the engine will cool down, otherwise it may simply burn out.
After one wash cycle, you can wash other items in the same water. For example, if you wash white clothes first, you can wash something colored or black a second time. After 2-3 washing cycles, drain the water and add clean water. Then start rinsing. It is similar to washing. Spinning is most often done manually.
In machines with a centrifuge, they do this: drain the water, install a centrifuge in the tank, put laundry in it and turn the spin switch. In two-tank machines, you need to transfer the laundry from one tank to another and also start the spin cycle.
What to do after washing?
Having finished washing and rinsing, wrung out the laundry and hung it on the line, you need to take care of the Malyutka washing machine. First, you need to drain all the water, if it has not already been drained. Secondly, disconnect the machine from the network.
After this, the inside of the tank of the machine is wiped dry with a rag and left open for a while. This is necessary so that the machine dries well and does not develop mold or rust. You also need to wipe the outside of the machine, if necessary, moistening a cloth in a weak soap solution. When the machine is dry, put it in storage.
This is how you need to use the Malyutka washing machine. On the one hand, everything is simple, but on the other, it is labor-intensive, requiring free time and manual work. But it’s better to have such a technique than to wash it by hand in a basin.
Thank you!
It'll do.
Can laundry capsules be used?
I don't think capsules are a good idea. The capsule needs time to dissolve, and you have a maximum of 6 minutes for everything, unless, of course, you are going to scroll through each load at least 3 times for 6 minutes. In addition, capsules in this case are not economical. One capsule is designed for normal loading in the machine, but Malyutka does not imply such a volume. In any case, if a person can afford to wash with capsules, then there is no need for a Malyutka, then it’s easier to just buy an automatic machine.
Well, at least someone would write how much water to pour into this technique...
Can sneakers be washed in it?
Of course you can, the machine washes “gently”.
The Soviet Malyutka (the first picture in your article) has not been used for 20-30 years, because there is no reverse, the activator rotates in one direction and things instantly curl into a ball. Can it be fixed and how? Thank you.
Can you wash jackets in it, including winter ones???
Good. I use it every day. Great stuff!
