How does drying work in an LG washing machine?
Today, washing and drying machines are no surprise. Increasingly, buyers are choosing machines with a drying function. Users throw laundry into the drum, launch the desired program and do not even suspect what processes are happening inside the unit.
How the dryer works in the LG washing machine, you have to delve into it if any problem arises. Let's figure out how excess moisture evaporates from the fabric. We will describe in detail the process performed by the washing machine.
How does the LG SM dryer work and how does it work?
LG automatic dryers dry things by condensation. Washing machines are equipped with a condenser, heating chamber, fan, additional heating element and pump. Let's tell you how moisture evaporates from fabric.
Condensation of water vapor is carried out in a separate tank (condenser), the inner surface of which is constantly cooled. The air is heated in a special chamber where there is a powerful heating element. The drying process occurs cyclically until all excess moisture “leaves” from the items.
The heating chamber is located in the tank, in its upper part. The capacitor is screwed onto the back of the plastic tank. There is also a fan here, which is necessary to “drive” air through the system.
The capacitor is screwed to the tank through a gasket from below, and to the heating chamber from above.
Description of the drying process
The principle of drying in automatic machines is quite clear if you figure out which element of the system is responsible for what. After the user starts the program, voltage is supplied to the washing machine. The heating element, drain pump, fan and valve responsible for supplying water to cool the condenser are activated. The drum begins to rotate.
The fan begins to “drive” air. Water vapor from the tank passes through the condenser. Here the stream cools and drops of water flow down. Next, the drain pump comes into play, pumping out the accumulated liquid into a special tank.
Dry cold air is then directed into the heating chamber. From here it goes back into the drum to the wet laundry, gradually becomes wet and enters the condenser. Due to cooling, water droplets flow down again and are removed from the system by a pump.
To ensure even drying, the drum makes the same number of revolutions in both directions. The machine is equipped with temperature sensors that monitor the temperature inside the drum. Typically, the air in the chamber warms up to 100-120°C when drying cotton fabric.
LG washer dryer maintenance
Washing machines must be serviced periodically. Especially if the machine has a drying option. Due to the air circulation mechanism, threads, spools, and fibers constantly “fly” in the system. This debris settles not only in the filters, but also in the air duct.
When the air duct becomes clogged, drying efficiency is lost, and an unpleasant odor begins to emanate from the machine.
Many users cannot understand for a long time why the machine smells unpleasant. They try to deal with the smell with all sorts of descaling agents, compounds for antibacterial treatment of the drum, etc. However, these actions remain ineffective, since the cause is a rotting knitted “plug” that has clogged the air duct through which the fan “sucks” air.
You can remove the blockage yourself without calling a professional. To do this, you will need to turn off the power to the washing machine, disconnect it from communications and move it away from the wall. The work will take no more than 20-30 minutes. Experts recommend cleaning your washer-dryer duct at least once a year.
Otherwise, caring for a machine with a drying function will be the same as caring for a regular washing machine. Once every 2-3 months it is necessary to clean the garbage filter and treat the inside of the machine from scale (using special means). It is also necessary to “ventilate” the drum and powder receptacle after each use of the equipment.
