Intensive wash in a Bosch washing machine
Sometimes owners of Bosch washing machines speak unflatteringly about this household appliance. Clothes allegedly do not wash well enough even after several starts of the device and when using the most modern detergents and stain removers. However, if you ask these people exactly how they use the machine, it turns out that regular washing is carried out in only a few modes. “Intensive Wash” is a program that will help solve the problem of dirty clothes that cannot be washed at standard settings.
Features of this function
Intensive washing is indicated in cases where the laundry is very dirty and cannot be cleaned normally. This is an exceptional measure; this function is used quite rarely to remove old stubborn stains on items made of cotton, linen, synthetics and other durable materials. You should not run this mode on a regular basis.
Intensive washing involves a continuous cycle of work for 4 hours (the time may be reduced or increased depending on the Bosch machine model). Not only time costs increase, but also electricity and water consumption.
Things are subjected to severe mechanical stress and spin in a drum in water at the highest temperatures (60-90 degrees) for several hours.
This is a real test, both for clothing and for most structural elements of household appliances. An intensive wash must be effective, so it is important to ensure that the drum is loaded correctly. Do not fill the washing machine with laundry less than 1/4 and more than 2/3.The manufacturer categorically does not recommend leaving the compartment half empty or filling it with clothes to capacity. Numerous studies have shown that washing when the drum is completely full is 25% less efficient.
Let's look at the stages of intensive washing in a Bosch washing machine.
- Pre-soaking. Lasts about 20 minutes.
- Slow wash for half an hour.
- Wash with intensive drum rotation (half an hour).
- Repeated slow wash for up to 30 minutes.
- Rinse and spin.
All given time intervals are approximate, since, as stated above, the functionality of different models is slightly different. Before starting the equipment, you need to fill or pour detergent into two compartments of the detergent tray (for preliminary and main wash). When using the intensive wash mode, you will need 2 times more powder than usual.
When is it appropriate to use the function?
If you use intensive washing too often, it will inevitably lead to damage to the washing machine. The fact is that this function requires the device to operate at maximum loads. The heating element heats up to 90 degrees and maintains this high temperature for a long time. The pump through which the boiling water passes is also subject to stress. After frequent contact with hot water, the operation of the pressure switch deteriorates.
Important! In the most modern Bosch models, the pump drains already cooled water, which is pre-cooled in a special tank.
The manufacturer recommends running an intensive wash no more than once a month, or better yet, even less often. This is not so bad, because you can accumulate dirty laundry with stubborn stains and wash it in one go.Do not clean items made of delicate fabrics such as silk, cashmere, wool, as well as shoes, jackets, sheepskin coats and other outerwear in this way. The intensive wash mode, launched by mistake instead of the gentle cleansing function, can lead to damage to wardrobe items.
