The faucet light on the dishwasher is on.

faucet indicator in Bosch dishwashersA properly working Bosch dishwasher may, at one not-so-wonderful moment, begin to act up or stop altogether, notifying the user of the malfunction in only one way - by the “Tap” indicator lighting up or flashing.

This problem is described rather sparingly in the instructions for Bosch dishwashers, so we decided to take a closer look at this “symptom” of the malfunction, devoting this article to it and the breakdowns that gave rise to it.

Reasons for activating this indicator

If you believe the instructions for the Bosch dishwasher, then The “Tap” indicator lights up or flashes if the water supply to the dishwasher is difficult or absent. This is a rather dry description, considering that we need to accurately determine the breakdown that caused the indicator to activate. What breakdowns actually cause this error?

  • The filter in front of the inlet valve is clogged.
  • The fill valve is not working.
  • The drain hose is not connected correctly, causing water to drain on its own.
  • The Aqua Stop leak protection system was activated.

If you have problems recognizing the indicators and symbols on the dishwasher, you can read about this in the article of the same name. It is quite easy to get confused about this issue, which in turn will lead to making wrong decisions, so read this information.

In each of the above cases, the “Crane” indicator may behave differently. If the inlet filter becomes clogged and water either does not enter the machine at all or fills very slowly, this indicator may either light or blink. If the intake valve does not work, the indicator most often lights up. When self-draining, the “Tap” indicator almost always blinks; the same behavior is also observed when the leakage protection system is activated. What kind of malfunctions are these and how to fix them, let's figure it out!

Note! If a malfunction occurs in Bosch dishwashers, not only may the “Tap” indicator light up, but an error code may also appear.

Water supply problems

If the "Tap" light comes on, there is a good chance that there is a problem with either the flow-through inlet filter or the inlet valve. If this model of Bosch dishwasher has a display, the machine may also display error E01. What needs to be done?faucet indicator in Bosch dishwashers

  1. Turn off the tee tap so that no more water flows into the machine.
  2. If there is an additional flow filter on the hose, then it should be unscrewed, disassembled and thoroughly cleaned of water stone and dirt.
  3. Next, you need to remove the inlet hose, pull out the standard flow filter (installed at the entrance to the dishwasher), clean and rinse it.

If the above steps do not resolve the problem, you will have to check the filling valve. First you need to remove the lower decorative panel from the Bosch dishwasher. On the front left at the very bottom you will see a fill valve with two contacts and wires going to it. We disconnect the wires, arm ourselves with a multimeter, and check the resistance. If the filling valve is faulty, it must be replaced. You can read more about malfunctions related to water supply in the article Water does not flow into the dishwasher.

Self-draining

The Faucet indicator may show signs of life if the drain hose is not connected to the sewer properly. It would seem, how does drainage affect the flow of water into the dishwasher? It turns out the relationship is very direct. When the dishwasher fills with water, but it constantly flows by gravity into the drain, the control module can recognize this phenomenon as an inability to fill the water to the desired level. After this, the “Crane” indicator begins to blink and the machine stops working.

In almost all cases, problems with self-draining occur in dishwashers that have only recently been in use. Why does the dishwasher drain on its own? Because it is not connected to the sewer properly. It is necessary to immediately stop the dishwasher and make a normal connection. You can read about how to do this correctly in the article. How to connect a dishwasher to water supply and sewerage?

For your information! The problem with an incorrectly connected drain hose can be fixed with your own hands within 10 minutes.

"Aqua Stop" triggered

aquastop in Bosch dishwashersIf your Bosch dishwasher is equipped with a leakage protection system, then it is very likely that this system has worked. When “Aqua Stop” is triggered, the dishwasher automatically shuts off the water, often generating a system error with a certain code. The error code may not pop up, but the “Tap” indicator will definitely start blinking. What to do in this situation is described in the article Aquastop hose for dishwasher, read it and everything will become clear to you.

In conclusion, we note that a burning or blinking “Tap” indicator on Bosch dishwashers most often indicates a malfunction. We tried to review the nature of these malfunctions and their causes in the framework of this article. We hope you find this information useful, good luck!

Thank you for the article. However, having encountered the same problem, I started looking for an answer on the Internet and discovered that it was quite popular advice to pour up to 10 liters of water into the working chamber of the machine.
After I checked and cleaned the filters and did not achieve anything, I decided to use this advice. I poured water inside the washing machine (mine fit about 4 liters) and turned it on.
The machine (model Bosch spv-63m50ru) finally started working! And now it works flawlessly.

Is it possible to get a technical explanation for this shamanism?

    • Gravatar Svetlana Svetlana:

Perhaps, thanks to the water, some lopsided float came loose?

    • Gravatar Sergey Sergey:

Thanks for the advice - it helped!

    • Gravatar Yura Yura:

Cleaned the filter, didn't help. We saw Andrey’s advice and decided to take advantage of the recommendation. We poured 6 liters of water into the dishwasher, turned on the eco program, everything worked out. The tap went out. Everything worked as before!

    • Gravatar Ilona Ilona:

Thank you! And it helped me! 🙂

    • Gravatar Evgeniy Eugene:

Do you pour water directly into the machine? I just have the same problem, I don’t know what to do anymore.

    • Gravatar Tanya Tanya:

      It helped! Thank you!

  2. Gravatar Maxik Maxik:

And I turned on the tap, lowered the water pressure at the inlet, and lo and behold, it worked better

  3. Gravatar Vyacheslav Vyacheslav:

The faucet light came on in my BOSCH dishwasher. In my case, the reason turned out to be an unclosed lid of the salt compartment! After adding salt, they forgot to close this lid and water from it went into the pan, which caused a tap error. I closed the lid - the faucet indicator went out and the dishwasher started working! If you have the same situation, check the tightness of the lid for adding salt, and only then all other reasons.

    • Gravatar Andrey Andrey:

The salt tank and error E25 - difficult draining of water, are not connected in any way.

  4. Gravatar Igor Igor:

Please help me with the following problem. On the Bosch 50e90, the program starts, the machine runs, but reaches the rinsing and drying stage, after which the tap lights up. The machine turns off/on and everything is fine again. The program starts but stops during the rinsing and drying phase.

    • Gravatar Inga Inga:

I have the same thing, Igor, what did you have?

    • Gravatar Alexander Alexander:

I managed to partially circumvent this problem: the machine washes at 70 degrees and at 48 minutes starts a hot rinse and the tap lights up. I turn the mode controller to reset. 0 is written on the screen, the machine stops. Then I switch it to normal rinse mode and turn the machine off and on. The screen lights up for 18 minutes and the machine does a cold rinse, but ends the cycle and the dishes are clean.

      • Gravatar Andrey Andrey:

This is not a workaround, it is simply ending the old program and starting a new one. And the solution... Bosch is a capricious machine, make sure that the hoses are clean, there are no blockages or excess hydraulic resistance (sharp bends, narrow drains), reduce the bending height of the drain hose, etc.

  5. Gravatar Julia Julia:

I have the same problem too. Did you manage to solve it?

  6. Gravatar Victor Victor:

The machine constantly drains water, at 70 degrees, even if there is no water, disconnecting from the network helps, rebooting does not help!

    • Gravatar Vladimir Vladimir:

Nothing helped. Or maybe this is a problem with the heating element? We noticed that nothing was heating inside.

  7. Gravatar Vladimir Vladimir:

We have exactly the same problem as in the last comments. Who managed to solve the problem?

  8. Gravatar Sergey Sergey:

Likewise! Please let me know who was able to solve the problem?

I live alone with two children. My husband is a truck driver. There are a lot of dishes because... the youngest is learning to cook. They gave us this miracle. Installed. We washed the dishes 3 times and the indicator turned on. I was nervous. I thought I ruined it. I read the article. Pushed it away from the wall. I cleaned the filter and filled it with water. And lo and behold! She earned it!

  11. Gravatar Tatyana Tatiana:

Good afternoon. The drain motor turns on, hums for 2-3 minutes, turns off, silence, then turns on again. “Salt”, “Rinse aid” lights up and “faucet” flashes. Moreover, if you open it, it continues to buzz. Previously, it stopped working open. This has happened before, when the septic tank was filling, you pump it out and everything works, but now it didn’t help. The water tip didn't help either. The machine does not respond to the buttons, as if it is frozen. And now it won't even turn on at all. Help with advice.

    • Gravatar Natalia Natalia:

Good afternoon Tatyana, did you manage to solve the problem? I have the same thing now.

  12. Gravatar Gopher Gopher:

    Water leaking into the pan

  13. Gravatar Alexander Alexander:

Turn off the dishwasher, turn it on its back, unscrew 2 screws, remove the tray, rinse, make sure there are no leaks in the hose system, check the module contacts. Reassemble in reverse order. Wash the dishes!))

  14. Gravatar Sergey Sergey:

Igor, Inga, Yulia, did you manage to solve the problem? Please let me know what the reason is.

    • Gravatar Lyudmila Lyudmila:

I just encountered this problem. It was my own fault, I didn’t notice that the door rested against the ladle and didn’t close at all. I washed the dishes, but did not turn off, but only blinked the “faucet” button, and did not respond to any operation. My husband cleaned the hoses, I studied the problem. Cleaned it, turned it on - blinking. Got angry. Evening, and tomorrow I go to work. Forcefully pushed it into place and that’s it, the light went out, the machine worked!

  15. Gravatar Sergey Sergey:

Filling with water (2 liters) helped and held the reset button on the start button for 3 seconds.

  16. Gravatar Vladimir Vladimir:

Thanks to those who commented. The faucet is flashing. Well, I still think the machine needs to be changed. I have it built-in. Today I decided to take it out. I started looking for where this pan with the float was. Have not found. Back on the Internet. I came across an article. And most importantly, a comment from Alexander on how to get to the pallet. I tilt the machine and there’s a puddle on the floor right away. It’s clear that it’s from there. The water is kind of rotten. Not fresh. I drained it all. I didn't bother looking for how to remove the pan. Launched it at 45 degrees. I'll wait and see for an hour. Yes, by the way, as soon as the water was poured out and the tap light stopped blinking.

    • Gravatar Andrey Andrey:

The aquastop function has triggered; you need to look for where the leak is occurring. T eliminate. Otherwise it will continue to be like this.

  17. Gravatar Julia Julia:

Thank you so much for the advice! Indeed, I filled it with water, turned it on and it worked!

  18. Gravatar Zhuma Zhuma:

I turn it on at 70 gr. It washes the dishes, but after an hour or after drying, the faucet turns on and does not restart. Water remains in the pan. This happened several times. Some time after removing the dishes, I changed it to 50 Eco. Earned, washed and dried. I checked the filter and everything is fine and clean.

  19. Gravatar Marina Marina:

On an almost new car, the “Crane” indicator came on. However, she did not drain the water. In the previous washing machine (not Bosch) there was no indicator. But sometimes she didn’t drain either. I usually closed the washing machine, started the “Rinse” mode, and the problem went away. It helped with Bosch too!

  20. Gravatar Alexey Alexei:

Good evening. Yesterday I bought my first dishwasher. Connected, loaded, launched. It works for a while, then beeps three times and that’s it. When I open it, the faucet indicator lights up. And there is water in the drainage area and does not go away. Please give me some advice on what to do? Or should I take it back to the store?

    • Gravatar Vasya Vasya:

If the problem is in the machine itself, then I would definitely try to return it.

    • Gravatar Alexander Alexander:

Can't drain. To check the drain hose into the bucket...

    • Gravatar Tatyana Tatiana:

I have the same problem. The new machine does not drain and the faucet indicator is on. Did you find out what the reason was?

  21. Gravatar Lena Lena:

The “drying” indicator started flashing when I loaded dirty dishes and pressed “Start”. In panic! I turned everything on and off several times. Same result. I read the comments. Scary: either a heating element or a temperature sensor, or something else.I liked the simplest way to fix the problem in the comments: hold the “Start” button for 3 seconds. I held 5 just in case: that’s it! The machine started working! Good luck to all!

  22. Gravatar Lena Lena:

Good afternoon Almost the same problem! The Faucet, Rinse Aid, Salt indicator lights up. The machine contains both salt and rinse aid! The problem is that the machine does not turn off. And 3 sec. at Start it is not overloaded 🙁 What should I do?

  23. Gravatar Sergey Sergey:

If the operation of the machine is interrupted with a tap indication, I recommend checking the voltage in the electrical network. I had a voltage of 184 volts and the machine stopped working before reaching the end of the cycle. I changed the phase to a stronger one and everything worked fine.

  24. Gravatar Alex Alex:

My wife soaked very dirty pots in Fairy-type detergent, and then without rinsing, just draining the soaked ones, she put them in the dishwasher at 70 degrees :) After 25 minutes. Foam and hot water came out of the machine. The faucet is flashing (Bosch machine). I didn’t think that detergent residue could produce so much foam. It's been dry for 12 hours - the faucet is still blinking. Obviously you need to get to the pallet.

  25. Gravatar Inna Inna:

Dishwasher BOSCH. No program starts. I press the power button, the ECO program lights up, other programs do not respond. I start this ECO, the washing machine works, but the door is not locked. What's the matter, can you help me figure it out?

  26. Gravatar Serg Serg:

Thanks for the advice! 10 liters of water in the working chamber! And start. And everything worked.
Bosch dishwasher. There were interruptions in the water supply. The faucet caught fire. And the intake stopped. I cleaned the filters - it didn't help. I blew out the aquastop - it didn't help. I found advice about 10 liters in time.
    Thank you very much.

    • Gravatar Marina Marina:

Where do you pour the water? I can't figure it out

  27. Gravatar Valera Valera:

My faucet is fumbling and won’t turn off on its own, it’s buzzing. I cleaned the filters and drained the water. But I can't turn it off using the button.

  28. Gravatar Valera Valera:

Thank you, it helped! I cleaned the filter, filled in 6 liters of water, set the ECO mode, everything works!

  29. Gravatar Stanislav Stanislav:

People, tell me! After finishing the washing, I open the door, and the tablet is almost intact on the shelf of the upper dish basket. Those. It's just rinsing with water. What could be the reason? Thank you in advance!

  30. Gravatar Anonymous Anonymous:

I pulled out the machine, tilted it forward, just looked at it and it started working!

  31. Gravatar Alexey Alexei:

The faucet flashed and the machine froze, did not turn off, did not overload. I filled it with water to the brim, turned it off with the button and then started working. Thanks for the water advice.

  32. Valentine's Gravatar Valentina:

The faucet was blinking. The pump did not turn off even with the door open. The washing machine was pulled out. Tilted to one side. About a liter of water spilled out of the pan. And before breaking, I cleaned the inside and unscrewed the screws. Apparently it wasn't tightened too much, hence the leak. After draining the water from the pan and tightening the screws harder, everything worked.

  33. Gravatar Irina Irina:

Bosch machine. The faucet button was flashing. It didn’t turn off, “Reset” didn’t help. I unplugged it, tilted it forward, nothing came out. While I was turning, I shook it. I turned it on, everything worked, water fills and washes. I don’t know what helped.

  34. Gravatar Sergey Sergey:

Thanks everyone. Bosch machine, put it on the back, water flowed out of the pan.I shook it to the sides and the machine started. I couldn’t unscrew the pan, the torexes are small. I don't have them, but now I'll buy them.

  35. Gravatar Andrey Andrey:

Thanks for the article, and the advice of pouring warm water into the compartment, after 5 attempts, as well as turning the pan of the Aquastop system, finally gave results! The float is probably stuck.

  36. Gravatar Tatyana Tatiana:

Andrey, who wrote the first comment back in 2016. Thank you friend! It worked!
First, be sure to clean the filters, and if the problem is not solved with the faucet indicator, then pour water directly into the dishwasher tray, as much as will fit, and start the machine in eco mode.
    My faucet went off.

  37. Gravatar Peter Peter:

    Good afternoon.
Bosch built-in dishwasher 40 cm. Worked well for several years. And then a problem arose.

You turn on any mode, it starts well, the indicators are all normal, the tap does not light up. During operation, it simply stops after an indefinite amount of time, maybe after 5 minutes of operation, maybe after 10, maybe after 30 or 1.5 hours of operation. Always different, the same in different modes. Water drains and refills without problems.

But that’s why it stops, makes 5 long beeps and the faucet indicator lights up or flashes, more often it lights up. You turn it off, then turn it on, the indicator is not lit, you start it up and again the same story, it worked for an indefinite amount of time and stopped.
Help me with this problem, I don’t know what to do or where to go.

  38. Gravatar Yuri Yuri:

My problem is this: the faucet is blinking, the machine does not turn off with the button. No matter how much I press, it does not respond to any actions at all.

  39. Gravatar Alexey Alexei:

Decided? I have the same thing, I don't know what to do.

  40. Gravatar Thank you Thank you:

Good time.Tell me, what are the possible reasons? After the entire washing process, at the last moment of pumping water out of the machine, the injector tap turns on and stops. BOSCH

  41. Gravatar OLGA OLGA:

Andrey from 2016, thank you from 2022, your advice worked :) But coupled with the rocking of the machine, it turned off for a day. I only saw your advice on this site :)

  42. Gravatar Dmitry Dmitriy:

Guys, hurray, I defeated her! The symptoms were the same as Peter’s above + sometimes error E14 popped up. I tried shaking it, turning it off, cleaning the filters, jumping with a tambourine, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. It ate my nerves. I found a solution on YouTube, where you just need to clean the alcohol sensor and it worked. I'm glad the scribe 🙂 can help you too.

  43. Gravatar Lena Lena:

We did the same thing, but it helped for two months and that’s it! Doesn't roll with water anymore.
