Where is the filter located in an LG washing machine?
The LG automatic machine is usually not picky; the device can be used for a long time without any failures or other problems. This is due to the high reliability of the washing machine: you can repeatedly load and unload the machine, use powders, capsules and conditioners without having to worry about the technical side of the process.
Like any equipment, a washing machine needs preventive maintenance; every couple of months it is advisable to clean the powder compartment, check the condition of the garbage filter, cuff and snail. Most owners know where the cuff and powder tray are located, but unfortunately, not everyone knows where the drain pump filter in an LG washing machine is located.
Filter location
After a social survey conducted by employees, it became reliably known that approximately every twentieth washing machine user has no idea about the location of the filter. Naturally, none of them even thought about the fact that it needed to be cleaned, and this leads to breakdowns of the device. If you don't know where the garbage filter is located, look for it in the lower right corner of the machine LG, it closes with a hinged lid.
To start cleaning, you need to open the lid, this is done easily, just pry it with your fingernail and pull it, it will open instantly. Under it you will see a large round filter element, or rather its visible part, as well as a black hose for emergency drainage. On top of it there is a part - a plug, which must be removed if the equipment breaks down in order to drain the water from the tank.It will take quite a long time to do this, it flows slowly, but there is no other way out, so it’s better this way than nothing.
The garbage filter is easy to remove. This is done by unscrewing it from the machine. To do this, it has a convenient handle, by grasping which you can easily remove it for subsequent cleaning. The debris filter in the device consists of two parts:
- handle seal;
- garbage catcher.
Remember, not only the filter element must be cleaned, but also the sink into which it is screwed; this is necessary, since various things often end up there: socks, scarves, thongs and much more. The snail is connected to a pump, which is designed to pump out liquid from the washing machine tank, but you don’t need to touch it, unless of course there are problems with it.
Fill valve filter element
Experts say that it is necessary to clean the garbage filter at least once every two months. In addition, the filling valve filter element must be cleaned every six months. It is necessary not only to clean it, but also to check for damage before doing this.
This problem is most pressing for those owners whose washing machine water comes directly from the water supply without being filtered in any way.
If you have an anti-limestone filter installed in front of the tee, which must be changed regularly, you can ignore this rule. Another question is where to find it?
- Shut off the water supply by closing tee at the end of the inlet hose.
- The other end of the hose, which is attached to the back wall of the upper part of the machine, must be unscrewed
- Look inside, you will find a mesh, you need to pull it out and wash it.
The simplest option is to use pliers; you can use them to grab the filter by the mesh and remove it. If it is completely clogged with plaque, the washing machine will not be able to function normally, since water simply will not flow into the tank. To clean, place it in a solution of citric acid, dilute 20 g per glass of liquid. Then rinse with hot water.
