Warranty for Samsung washing machines

Warranty for SM SamsungAny equipment tends to fail. The same applies to Samsung washing machines. They can break without even serving the warranty period, despite their world-famous durability and reliability. To understand the specifics of establishing a warranty for Samsung washing machines, the difference between the warranty period and the service life, etc., read this article.

Warranty and service life

So, the difference between warranty period and service life is quite easy to understand. The service life of the machine is set by the manufacturer itself based on any features of the model, materials, etc. In other words, the manufacturer simply notifies the potential buyer approximately how long his device will last.

In the case of the warranty period, everything is somewhat different. If the machine breaks down before the expiration of this period of time due to a manufacturing defect or incomplete parts, the manufacturing company (in our case, Samsung) undertakes to repair the device. The warranty period imposes certain obligations on the manufacturer, unlike the service life.

The service life of a washing machine is usually counted from the date of manufacture unless the user manual makes any adjustments. For example, modern Samsung machines have a service life of 7 years, if you follow all the prescribed rules of use. But the warranty period depends on the country in which you buy the unit, since different countries have different trade laws. For example:

  • In our country, the machine warranty period is 1 year;
  • in the Republic of Belarus – 2 years;
  • in Azerbaijan – 1 year;
  • Georgia – 1 year;
  • Armenia – 1 year.

Note! The indicated periods may also vary depending on the model. For example, premium Samsung machines have a longer warranty period.

When is the warranty valid and when is it not?

But before you contact the manufacturer with a request for repairs before the warranty period expires, understand in what cases the warranty applies. After all, just because you have received a warranty card, this does not mean that the manufacturer will repair your washing machine in case of any breakdown. Repair will only be made if a manufacturing defect is found in the device. If you break the washing machine yourself, the warranty is void.

For example, you can contact the warranty service if the machine cannot spin, vibrates too much, etc. The repair service will check the device and find out whether the cause of the breakdown is a manufacturing defect or improper operation.

It is worth noting that Samsung can establish a longer warranty period for some individual parts of the machine, for example, direct drive units and their control modules (although these parts fail much less often than others).

Don't wait for warranty repairs

warranty serviceThe warranty period was created to ensure that the buyer is confident that his washing machine will be repaired if a manufacturing defect is discovered. But in order to receive the service, you also need to follow certain conditions. For example, when purchasing a unit, you should not refuse to have it installed by a professional.

If you want to install the machine yourself, then the manufacturer ceases to be responsible for any damage (after all, you could damage something during unprofessional installation). If the professional installer damages something during installation, then the company will pay for the repair and will not charge you for installation. There are several other situations when repairs are not made under warranty:

  1. If you used an extension cord when connecting the machine to the mains.
  2. If you used the machine to wash things that cannot be washed in it (this is usually indicated in the instructions).
  3. If, before calling a repair service, you took steps to repair it yourself.
  4. If your warranty card is filled out incorrectly.

Thus, knowing the warranty periods of the purchased device and following all the specified rules, you can always count on repair of your equipment in case of defects (as a rule, cases of warranty validity are stated in the coupon). Getting repairs is quite simple. If you find a problem, contact the service center. There your washing machine will be checked and determined whether it is defective or not.

If the defect is confirmed, you will be repaired; if not, they will offer to repair the device at your expense. At the same time, employees must make sure in which store you made the purchase, whether you have a receipt and a contract. If they are missing or you have lost them, the service center employees have the right to refuse to repair you.

Be careful! Study the cases and types of breakdowns that are covered by the warranty, collect the necessary documents and make sure that the defect is indeed a manufacturing defect.If everything is in order, feel free to apply for warranty repairs!

It is better to find out such information directly from the manufacturer, because sometimes service center employees may try to deceive you. If you clearly know all the conditions, your rights and the rights of the company, then you probably won’t have any problems.

    It's a complete disgrace, a disgrace... 7 years of service life and a year of warranty, it shouldn't be like that. The machine is not cheap. I worked for 4 years and what’s next, a new one? Repairs aren't cheap either.
