The drainage hose is made of polypropylene, which is lighter than plastic hoses, less toxic, but at the same time more rigid and better able to withstand high temperatures. At the end of such a drain hose, special fittings made of elastic rubber are installed. If you find out the diameter of the drainage hose, you need to know the internal diameter of the fittings. It can be 19 millimeters at both ends, 22 at both ends, or 19 at one end and 22 at the other.

Indeed, finding a new place for household appliances or purchasing a new hose is much safer and easier, because there will be no additional risk of liquid leaks, but this is not always possible. If lengthening the standard sleeve is unavoidable, then consider the following recommendations:
The drain hose must not be pulled, so remember the small margin that should remain after enlarging the hose;
the maximum permissible safe length is 3.5 meters. If the hose exceeds this value, then the load on the pump will be higher, and if it is weak, then after a while it may even fail;
purchase an adapter in advance - a plastic tube that is built into the ends of the standard and extension hoses, and then secured with clamps measuring 16 by 27 millimeters.
It is better to choose metal clamps rather than plastic ones, as the former are more durable.
Extending the drain hose itself takes no more than five minutes, even for people without the proper experience and knowledge. But during the procedure, be extremely careful to make the extended hose as reliable as possible, because it has a higher risk of leaks.
